Dame Helen Mirren sports nurse lapel watch in Arthur

First published: 06-04-2011

In one of Dame Helen Mirren's new film, the well-loved actress has donned a unique timepiece, watch enthusiasts may be able to spot.

The star has donned a nurse lapel watch, with Watch ID noting that despite not exactly knowing the brand or model, it looks similar to a Pedre ticker.

Regardless, the timepiece comes with a rectangular top part, a small chain and a round watch feature, of which a white dial is featured.

These types of watches were originally designed for nurses, with their popularity noted for the fact that they hung upside down from an outfit, thus making reading the time simple.

Long-time watch fans can spot the timepiece in the movie Arthur, with Dame Helen Mirren starring in the 1981 remake as the nanny to Arthur.

Dame Helen has plenty of experience in the movie industry, with SAG Awards, Bafta prizes and an Academy Award just some of her notable accolades.
