Corum Chinese Hat to be re-issued

In celebration of its 55 year anniversary, watch maker Corum is to re-issue its popular Chinese Hat timepiece.

It is one of three watches that the company is launching back onto the market, with this particular timepiece first appearing for watch fans to buy back in 1958, Watch Luxus has reported.

The name came about after the designed shape was compared to hats worn by those in the Middle Kingdom who used to work in the rice fields.

Diamonds play a huge part in the design of the Chinese Hat, with a total of 142 full-cut ones embracing its case, which amounts to 2.44 carats.

Watch fans who want a timepiece that will not be too large on their wrist will also be pleased to know that the diameter of the case is a subtle 33 millimetres, considerably smaller than many other watches currently on the market.

Another watch maker celebrating is Ebel Beluga, which is marking its 25 years in the industry with a range of chocolate-themed timepieces, Watch Luxus has recently reported.
