Charity auction announces change of date

First published: 26-08-2011

The Only Watch charity auction is due to take place on September 23rd instead of the 22nd as previously announced.

The change of date has been made to accommodate the attendance of Prince Albert II of Monaco, who has been supporting the cause since it began.

Only Watch is now in its fourth edition and its world tour kicked off today (August 26th) in Bangkok.

It will finish in the Principality of Monaco in the Salle Belle Epoque of the Hermitage Hotel, with the auction beginning at 16.00.

Timepieces will then be bought by bidders wishing to support the cause for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy Disease.

This is an illness that generally only affects boys and can result in them being confined to a wheel-chair by the age of 12 after an accelerated degeneration in muscle function.

It affects approximately 1 in every 3,600 male infants and is typically a hereditary disease.

Watch brands supporting the auction include Tag Heuer, Blancpain, Cyrus and Zenith.
