Ceramic watches are ''very desirable''

First published: 06-04-2010

An expert on timepieces has argued in favour of owning a ceramic watch, explaining that they are the height of fashion.

In a piece for SpotThisNow, it was explained that the first ceramic watch was created by Chanel in 2000 and was both "hi-tech" and scratch-resistant, causing many manufacturers after Chanel''s success to begin engineering similar offerings for their target market.

It noted that while ceramic watches are available in a huge array of designs and styles, there is an element of jewellery in their delivery as there is usually an option of a strap or a bracelet.

Additionally, the available colours for such timepieces are simply a case of "you name it and you''ll have it", though black is generally considered to be one of the most preferred shades.

It was recently revealed that Chanel would be boosting its marketing campaign across the world with the help of actress and singer Vanessa Paradis.
