Watchmaker Casio has announced the release of five new models in its line of Edifice metal watches.

"Speed and Intelligence" is the concept the Japanese watchmaker is aiming to convey by employing the company's Neon Illuminator.

This technology allows for the coating of the watch indicators, dials and hands with a special luminous ink, which emits light when absorbing the photic energy of black light.

These new models are the first in the Edifice line to use such technology.

Five different styles are available: Silver and aqua, silver and orange, black and aqua, black and gold and black and red.

The company claims that these sporty-style watches are becoming very popular among men.

Additional features included water resistance up to 100 metres, two years of battery life and a stopwatch.

Although an official price has not been announced, other watches in the Edifice line range from £66 to £650.
