Watchmaker Cartier has unveiled a new model which looks to take "a highly original approach to combating the effects of gravity on timekeeping".

Entitled the Rotonde de Cartier Astroregulateur, one of the main features of this timepiece is the unique movement approach which has been chosen by the company, Watch Time reported.

This is because the watch is designed to move in various directions over the course of a day, as well as at a range of speeds.

By doing this, the escapement is subjected to "a variety of accelerations as the rotor spins", thus offering fashion watch fans more detail.

Other eye-catching elements of this Cartier timepiece include a choice of titanium or 18-carat white gold being offered for the crown's finish, as well as a case styled in niobium-titanium on leather.

Recently, Cartier revealed the elegant Le Cirque Animalier de Cartier collection, with each watch being designed with an assortment of diamonds, which form up to create an image of an animal across the dial, Watch Luxus reported.
