Biggest jewellery robbery in UK sees watches swiped

Dressed in sharp suits and arriving in a flash car, two men entered a high-profile jewellery shop in Mayfair looking to get hold of a few treats for themselves.

However, the individuals were not going to be exchanging cash, with the pair concealing handguns and using them as part of their threat to take jewellery, watches and a number of other expensive items from Graff Diamonds.

The pair fired shots into the air and ground and took a temporary hostage before nearly halting their efforts through a small car crash, before escaping with the watches and gems.

Pam Mace, the detective chief inspector of Scotland Yard's Flying Squad, said the robbery was extremely well-planned and that the suspects are very dangerous.

She continued: "Someone knows who these men are, they would undoubtedly have spoken about it beforehand or boasted about it afterwards.

"I would urge anyone who recognises them, knows the whereabouts of the jewellery or has any other information to contact us."

Graff was founded in London and now has shops in locations such as Moscow, Monte Carlo, Dubai, Tokyo and New York.
