Adidas watches - Adidas could help out shaky Ashes team

First published: 14-07-2009

England cricket team could be given a huge boost following a recent investment in prime Adidas technology.

The producer of Adidas watches believes the lenses in their cutting-edge sunglasses will allow the English team to excel and triumph over their Australian rivals, in arguably the tightest challenge between the two sporting nations yet.

It is believed this 'twelfth man' role of the sunglasses may allow fielders, bowlers and wicket-keepers to mitigate any risk of completely missing the ball should it come sailing in their direction.

Compared to standard sunglasses, the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) believes the visual comfort of the colour-changing glasses could improve receptiveness by up to 28 per cent.

Among the participants in the demonstration of the glasses was Liam Plunkett, Mike Yardy and Graeme Onions.

The current Ashes tournament stands at a draw, following a valiant effort by James Anderson and Monty Panesar against Australian bowlers.
