2015 Fashion Trends

First published: 06-10-2014

With the Spring/Summer 2015 collections of designers having recently made their way onto the runway, speculation about what trends will appear on the high street next year is rife. Here at Watch Shop, we've put together a trend forecast of our own, highlighting what's set to be hot during the first few months of the upcoming year and, of course, what style of watch you ought to team up with these trends.

All white everything

Arguably one of this summer's biggest fashion trends, the colour white is anticipated to reign supreme once again in Spring/Sumer 2015. Lo and behold, the most obvious colour of watch to choose when dressing head to toe in this versatile shade is, of course, white. Alternatively, opt for a sleek silver timepiece to give your all-white outfit a hint of glam.

Polo, please!

As seen on the runway shoes of Tommy Hilfiger and Alexander Wang, polo-style shirts are set to make waves next spring. We suggest styling this casual piece with a colourful watch that's sporty in style, such as the Casio Classic Alarm Chronograph. The gold or silver metallic version of this watch will also work equally well, particularly if you're a fan of preppy style.

In the navy

A prominent colour in Marc Jacobs' recently unveiled collection, navy has been hailed the new black for Spring/Summer 2015. Create a nautical look by pairing up your navy garments with a white or cream wristwatch. If subtlety is more your style, plump for one with dark coloured face and strap, such as dark brown or indeed navy.

Army vibes

Garments in earthy tones, such as olive green and khaki, including the likes of the much-adored military jacket, are tipped to be big. A tan or dark brown leather strap will perfectly complement your army-inspired apparel, with brands such as Olivia Burton offering a wide range. A gold watch is another possibility, be it chunky or dainty.

Go, go gingham!

It's official - this checkered pattern just keeps on making a comeback! As a print that most certainly makes a statement, gingham garments are the focal point of any look, so a watch that's simple and understated will be your best bet. We suggest a classic style watch with a leather strap, but that's not to say a sophisticated silver, or glamorous gold timepiece is out of the question.
