Absolutely love it, from the moment it arrived in its beautifully presented box. Very high quality watch which feels great on the wrist - a nice weight & fit, and the 40mm sized case is the Perfect size, Lovely quality ETA 2824-2 automatic movement which keeps perfect time,
I would certainly recommend buying from WatchShop as I received fantastic service from start to finish! They sent frequent emails updating me on the order through to delivery, and it arrived very quickly, next day! And I ordered on Sunday so that speaks for itself Super service!
I plumed for a nato strap and found DAVOSA very helpful and easy to talk to, they were able to let me buy one direct from them and it was sent via fedex and arrive within a couple of days. Once again their service was Fantastic throughout. So please buy with confidence you wont be disappointed.

The Davosa takes its styling cues straight from another famous watch, the Rolex Submariner. This is a style that many, like me, appreciate. I don’t wish to wear my Rolex 16613 on a daily basis so was looking for something that was close to the style of the Submariner. Those on my shortlist in the sub £1,000 range were: Certina DS Action Diver, Seiko Shogun and the Longines Hydroconquest .
A friend suggested I take a look at the Davosa range, I had never heard of them but once I started researching the brand I found what I was looking for, a Ternos Ceramic. The similarity to the Submariner is obvious but this is no fake Rolex, it is a quality watch in its own right with many features that make it superb value for money, even undercutting the other watches I was looking at.
From opening the plain box no leather and mahogany here the quality of the watch is plain to see and feel. The bracelet is very well engineered with solid end links, screw pins and has a well designed flip out extension piece for a light diving wetsuit, in my opinion it is better than any of the Subs I have owned in the past. The tolerances are tight, in fact I had to adjust the hook holding the deployment as it was difficult to open, a minor problem quickly fixed but perhaps something quality control needs to pick up on.
Taking out three links for my 7 1/2inch wrist was simple using a jewellers screwdriver.
The sapphire crystal has a blue anti-reflective coating underneath which flashes blue in some lighting, a bit odd when all my other watches do not have this. I never had a problem with reflections before, still, a nice touch. The ceramic bezel is welcome as I am paranoid about scratching them, very glossy and obviously very hard. The bezel is tight, now I don’t like loose bezels but turning it wearing diving gloves is not possible like I could with a Rolex. I suspect most wouldn’t use it for diving and the fact it is tight to turn at least means it won’t accidently turn. 120 clicks and the indices line up perfectly.
The Cyclops lens magnifies more than my 16613, the date actually fills the window which means I don’t have to squint to see it!
After a week of running it was consistently slow by 9 secs a day, maybe within spec’ but not for me, I carefully adjusted the regulator, this is easy with the snail cam using a tiny screwdriver with a pointer attached, I turned it about fifteen degrees. Together with leaving the watch face down at night I have achieved as near to perfect time keeping as possible, less than 1 sec gain per day, probably more down to luck than judgement!
The movement is the well respected ETA Elabore 2824-2 with Incabloc shock protection and a gold plated nickel balance wheel. While this is not the top spec ETA 2824 of the four grades available, it is still one found in mid range watches such as Certina, Oris, Hamilton and Longines, amongst others. After 2019 ETA will not be supplying watchmakers outside of the Swatch group and so I expect Davosa will have to turn to the similar design Sillita movement.

The build quality of this watch is excellent and arguably represents the best value sub style watch available today though some might cite the Steinhart. If you look into the whole range of Davosa it is clear they are a progressive company with developing technology, producing great design and quality at affordable prices. You won’t find Davosa sponsoring F1, International Tennis or Showjumping/Horse Trials or paying for lavish adverts in top magazines, all this adds to the price of a watch.

Bought a davosa ternos wristwatch for my husband for our ruby wedding anniversary. He is delighted with it. Says its excellent quality, superb Swiss movement and looks great. really likes the face with the clear markings and magnified date. Good weight to the bracelet and looks the part. An impressive timepiece.

I have a 7 inch wrist so this is a big a watch as I can wear without it looking too big or shouty. I should say the first thing I did was replace the nice bracelet with a black silicone rubber strap. Ive never gotten on with bracelets and I find a rubber strap helps hold it in place better the watch on its own weighs about 90 grams. Also, I bought this watch for work and leisure rather than as a dress watch. I work as a cleaner in a car parts factory and any watch I wear will get splashed bashed and crashed.

For over 30 years Ive worn your average Casio digital, F91W etc, and they have served me well. But, about a year ago I started hankering for something a bit more special, and after much trial and error I have arrived at the Devosa Turnos.

I had a bit of a shock when I opened the box as the first thing that caught my eye was a leaflet for the Argonautic Automatic! Not to worry though, they had sent me the Turnos!

I like the look of this type of watch. To be honest Id love a Rolex Submariner but that will never happen, as it is this Devosa represents over 2 weeks take home pay for me. So, is it worth it?

Ive only had this watch 24 hours but its a keeper. I like almost everything about it. The worst things I can say about it is that the luminous dot on the zero point of the bezel is a bit too small and hardly glows at all, and that the minute/second marks are a bit faint.

The bezel action is tight as it really should be and you will need to grip it firmly to rotate it uni-directional, so anti-clockwise only. The numbers on the bezel are etched into the ceramic rather than painted or printed on, a nice extra quality touch I think. The lume on the hands and hour markers is nice and bright and is readable hours after turning the light out.

As for accuracy I think its well within acceptable limits for an auto at this price. While on my wrist yesterday it seemed to loose about 4 seconds in 8 hours. Overnight I hang it on the wall by my bed, so it is in the vertical position, and this morning its one second fast. That is plenty good enough for me. If you want 100% accuracy, get a radio controlled quartz!

The movement itself has a nice action, the second hand beats along quite smoothly, not like an electric sweep, but a lot smoother than the cheaper Miyota type movements. Best of all this watch will hack, so when you pull the crown all the way out the hands STOP, until you push it back in.

It seems you can manually wind this watch if it has stopped due to not being worn. Out of the box I gave the crown 10 turns 1st position after being unscrewed and it sprang to life. The action on the crown is crisp and the movement feels good when adjusting the time, no slop or play.

So, all in all Im happy. Have a look at the Certina version if this one is not quite your thing, or any of the other many Submariner style watches on offer.

Good luck, and happy watch hunting.

I had been looking for a watch of this style for sometime and I knew I did not want to pay for a name such as Rolex. The automatic movement was also very important.
The Davosa has proved to be a lot of watch for the money. The styling is spot on, the movement is better than I expected and the solid stainless steel link strap is of the highest quality. IF anyone can find a watch of this quality for less buy it.
