All good. Relatively simple device but does the basics reliably. Great for casual runners or non-casual runners who arent too obsessed with the stats. Good for measuring improvement over time and for pacing during runs.

I bought the Garmin Forerunner 25 watch because I wanted an easy to use watch that recorded my current pace, mile splits, distance and overall time and automatically synced to Strava so I I had to do was concentrate on my running! Its a great bit of kit, lightweight and good screen size and so far helping me to pace out half marathon training! It can take a few minutes to get a GPS signal before a run but I turn it on before getting my shoes on etc and then its good to go. Definitely recommend!

Really pleased with my purchase of Garmin Forerunner 25, very easy to set up, user friendly, fairly basic but if you just want to track time and distance of your run its fab. Takes a few minutes to find GPS signal but this hasnt been a problem - just turn on while youre getting ready to go.

I’m a female who runs regularly and I bought the Garmin Forerunner 25 as a replacement for my Garmin Forerunner 220. I was a bit nervous as I did wonder if it was a step down from what I was used to. However I was pleasantly surprised. It is often marketed as a beginner runner GPS watch but it has plenty for the more experienced runner too. Plus, it is also good for non-runners who want to track their steps, sleep and activity time.
I choose the small size as I have quite small wrists 16cm and it fits great with plenty more room for larger wrists. The strap is a soft rubber and is very light and flexible. The watch face is quite square looking and it looks quite functional but I am not using it as an all day, every day watch so that is fine for me.
Setting up the forerunner 25 was very easy. There are basically 4 buttons and pressing each one gives you options.
Top left button: Turns the watch on and off and lights the back screen.
Bottom left button: For returning to the previous screen and for setting a lap.
Top right button: To start and stop the timer and for selecting displayed options.
Bottom right button: For changing settings, viewing history and notifications and for scrolling through the data screens whilst running.
There are 2 screens for running data you can put 3 data fields per screen plus a third screen if you have paired it with a heart rate monitor. The choices of data fields are time, distance, pace, calories, lap time, lap distance, lap pace, average pace, so basically plenty to choose from. The third screen however can only show heart rate and heart rate zone.
If you want to track your runs/activity, then you also need to download the Garmin app to your phone, tablet or laptop. I was really pleased to see in the Garmin stats page that apart from pace, distance and time, I can also see my cadence and heart rate.
For tracking my heart rate, I pair the forerunner with my Mio Link wrist heart rate monitor and have had no problems getting them to pair with each other. A big relief to me was that the watch GPS signal is super-fast and even finds satellites whilst I am indoors.
The watch can also be used as an activity tracker although that was not why I bought it. I don’t normally track my daily activities and sleep but I did for a few days to try it out. It seemed accurate to me and gave me an insight into my sleeping habits! The battery life is theoretically 8 hours in GPS mode and 8 weeks in just tracking mode. I would say in GPS mode that is quite accurate but I’ve not time tested it in just tracking mode.
Picks up GPS satellites very quickly and has reliable tracking.
Has enough data for casual runners or runners who don’t want to track everything.
Very easy to set up and easy to find what you are looking for.
Can be paired with ant+ heart rate sensor.
Batter life seems good.
I would like to be able to see my heart rate data on the same screen as my pace.
The beep sound for when you complete a lap or exceed your heart rate is a bit quiet and so easy to miss.
All in all, I am really happy with the Garmin Forerunner 25 and it does what it says it can. I guess some runners will want more features but I think it will suit many runners or those who just want to track their daily activities.

the watch is great. I bought it as a present for someone that has just started running and it is easy to use and will help them gauge what they are doing.
