Movado watches are historically unique in that the iconic gold dot watch dial design is the first and only timepiece ever to be selected for a permanent place in New York's Museum of Modern Art. The Bauhaus design, drawing on the movement's ethos of simplicity, function and tastefulness, was created in 1947 by the artist Nathan George Horwitt, taking inspiration from the sun at high noon.
