Everyone has got his own personal style and favors. Some would just like this model. Personally I love this timepiece. It’s by far better that I was expected. I don’t believe that could find a person that doesn’t consider that this piece worth the money 100% .Its a simple classic beauty.100M water resistance, light titanium construction, no batteries, beautiful dial color, right diameter, especially for small-medium wrists like mine. If this beauty had got luminescent hands and sapphire crystal I don’t know what more could I ask from a classic casual watch. I send a photo of my beauty as it sparkles under the bright sun of my country (Greece) in summer

I bought this watch as an 18th birthday present for my Godchild. It was received with delight, and decribed as awesome and brilliant. It is amazingly light due it its titanium construction and the ecosystem appeals to the ecological side of his nature and also the inability of the average teenager to remember to wind a watch or change a battery. He also liked the matt grey finish of the wrist band and the blue watch face. I personally don't particularly like that shade of blue, but that's a matter of personal taste. It is also waterproof to 100 meters which means he can swim and shower wearing it, another major advantage for a very active teenager. You don't have to leave it on the beach or in the hotel and risk getting it stolen. It isn't too chunky - he has small wrists. Getting the wristband adjusted wasn't as easy as first thought. The original jeweller just moved the clasp, so another jeweller had to be found who could remove the necessary links.

Having a lifestyle that requires a water resistant and reliable watch but not wanting to carry a large all singing and dancing timepiece on my wrist I need a watch for formal and active occasions. Acidity in my skin produces a rough and unpleasant surface deterioration on anything other than stainless steel or titanium.

I recently was quoted £110 to have another manufacturer's watch undergo a battery and quartz replacement but finding that a similar new stainless steel model in their range was available for £121 and only had a two year warranty I decided that the Citizen Titanium Eco-Drive watch BMO230-51L was a better investment as I would not have to pay the regular £40 for battery replacement and would have the extra three years warranty. In addtion to this I have a Citizen watch that has given eighteen years of good service as a recommendation.

Knowing that my titanium spectacles have performed well and have been light and comfortable to wear and have not been affected by skin acidity I made what I feel is an excellent choice in the Citizen Titanium Eco-Drive BM)230-51L watch.

I would describe its appearance as being

a silken light grey and although being descibed as having a blue dial to me it appears virtually black meaning that it will match virtually any shirts if I was that fussy!

Once I had made the adjustment to the bracelet I found it easy enough to take on and off and not fiddly as some suggest.

I have only one adverse comment. Although I have had a recent eye test and new spectacles I sometimes find the date difficult to read and have to tilt the watch to see the date clearly and would like either a bigger date and window or a magnifying window. This is only a minor problem and no doubt is due to my advancing years.

I find the watch is extremely comfortable to wear not only due to its lightness but lack of bulk and the flexibility of the bracelet and I have no discomfort driving, writing or using a computer

Excellent watch! I bought it as a present for my husband and he was really delighted with its appearance, feel, and punctuality. He says that putting it on and taking it off was a bit tricky at first with all those interlocking bits, but once you get used to it, it's no problem.

This Citizen is slim, elegant, lightweight, masculine and functional. It does simply and accurately what anyone who doesn't want a multi-function half-brick strapped to their wrist would need: it tells the time and date and it looks good while doing it. Not only that, it'll keep telling the time for as long as there's enough light to keep it charged (I have an old Eco-drive I bought eleven years ago which still works perfectly, but the case and strap are showing their age, as am I). It'll also survive a bath, shower, dunking in the washing-up, a sudden deluge, and even swimming.

But I do agree with the other negative comments in respect of the strap. It looks great, but the 'quick adjust' clasp is clumsy until you get used to it, provides only coarse adjustment (one full link minimum either way), and because it 'stands proud' it's uncomfortable when typing on my laptop as I am now. Use the 3D-View and you'll see just how proud the clasp stands when closed. A 'push-button' clasp with removeable links, such as that on the BM6015-51E would've been better and would have made for a slimmer fit on the wrist, especially under a shirt-cuff.

I could have bought an Eco-drive with just such a slim strap, but the 100m water resistance was a key feature for me and there are very few watches in the range which are swim-proof, eco-drive, lightweight (titanium) and don't require a pilot's licence, short sleeves, a weight-lifter's physique and acute myopia to operate. I can't understand the current trend for wrist-watches which wouldn't look out of place as bedside alarm clocks where size is concerned, and I really don't need to know what time it is in every city in the world, much less what altitude above sea-level my living-room is. And I certainly don't need to be putting my reading-glasses on to see microscopic dials and gauges to figure out how fast I'm not travelling or how much fuel I need to get to my next way-point.

I can't comment on the accuracy of the movement, since I've only owned the watch for a week. But it beats a Seiko Kinetic auto-relay I recently had "repaired" which still gains two seconds a day and needs its 'kinetic storage unit' (battery to you and I) replaced every four years. Having owned both Seiko Kinetic and Citizen Eco-Drive, I can honestly say I'll never go back to Seiko.

To recap, this Citizen is excellent value for money. Only the minor but noticeable issues prevent me from giving it a "10 out of 10", but at this price-point and possessing all the other features I need (simple - time and date only -, elegant, slim, easily readable, lightweight, waterproof, robust and no battery or 'storage unit' to replace), this is the watch I wear every day. 8.5/10. It lost a point for the strap and half a point for the fact that the hands aren't luminous.

LIKED THE SIMPLE LOOK OF THIS WATCH IT IS ALSO SMALLER THAN MOST. ECODRIVE IS NEW TO ME BUT SOUNDS LIKE A GOOD IDEA.MY LASY WATCH, A SEIKO COSTS £39.90 TO REPLACE THE BATTERY AND MAINTAIN THE WATERPROOF FEATURE BUT WITH THE CITIZEN GUARANTEE I HAVE 5 YEARS BEFORE THAT IS A PROBLEM. I DID SPECIFY THE WRIST MEASUREMENT FOR MY NEW WATCH BUT WAS A BIT TOO BIG WHEN IT ARRIVED. HOWEVER IT ONLY COST £2.00 TO GET ADJUSTED AT MY LOCAL JEWELER AS IT WAS SO SIMPLE. THIS WATCH IN TITANIUM AND THEREFOR VERY LIGHT.
