Bought as a gift for my husband, who is very impressed. It looks great, very stylish and smart. Only pitfall is the fact it is quite difficult to set. However, that aside I am very satisfied with my purchase.

Wonderful and compact stainless steel watch with a cool blue easy to read dial that looks attracvtive on the wrist prompting people to admire and comment on its appearance.

The Eco-drive is a definite plus in this day and age.

On the downside, the instructions on setting up the various
functions could be made a little simpler and more explanatory.

Very satisfactory purchase all the same.

The watch has practical function such as perpetual calendar, alarm etc. but only function missing is radio control.

The watch is heavy in weight. It seems crowded with other functions. It is difficult to read time for a people with poor vision and does not serve the pupose. I just read the instruction and it would be difficult to follow if sone one is not technical minded. I have given rating fair on these ground.

I am thinking of sending it back for the reasons above.

This is my first watch for ten years and with there being so many to choose from, I found it important to narrow down what I was looking for in a watch. I was looking for something modern and eye catching with a classic look, a face that was not too fussy or cluttered, a fairly chunky stainless steel bracelet and some gadgetry thrown in (I love my gadgets!). I can confidently say, after researching over a hundred watches, this Citizen Eco-Drive was the perfect choice for me.
From the moment I lifted the lid, I knew I'd bought something both intricate and special. The watch has a very satisfying weight and feel to it, if you're like me, you'll like to know you're wearing it when it's on your wrist. I personally found titanium watches too light. The bracelet clasp is very smart and when closed gives the impression that the bracelet continues all the way around your wrist. Undoing the clasp is as simple as presses the two pins to release the bracelet. The chronograph dials are as big as they can be and although the type on the dials is very tiny it's still readable without having to squint! Some of the dials I've seen on other watches look a bit plain and boring but these give a very classic look. The dial, although being classed as blue, is quite a dark shade of blue (something that I was a little concerned about when ordering) and at some angles actually looks black. The shade of blue brightens slightly depending on the angle of light but never looks lighter than navy blue. It compliments the silver of the bracelet very well. The watch has an illuminous “glow in the dark” hour hand, minute hand and a small dot on the second hand. The greeny/yellow colour in the fluorescent hands can been seen during the day but this doesn't bother me. The mineral glass has a very clever optical trick which as you tilt the watch, the dial appears to tilt to face you! Of course, it's not moving at all!
If you're like me and like your gadgets to do things by themselves, this won't disappoint. Although this is not a radio watch, ie., it won't set the time itself, once set, you'll never have to alter it, even if it's a leap year. The watch uses the second hand to tell you what it needs, for example, if the time needs setting (which it will the first time you use it), the second hand will spin round to “SET” to let you know that the time has not been correctly set yet. If the energy cell is running low, the second hand will skip a second to save power at the same time as letting you know that it needs charging. There is no indicator to say when the watch power is fully charged but this is really not necessary as it will charge under any light source, sunlight giving the quickest charge. Leaving it on a window sill, away from direct sunlight to avoid heat, for a day will give it a full charge.
The crown on the side is fairly small so some people may find this fiddly but as long as you have finger nails, pulling the crown out to alter the various functions is a doddle.
The most important bit of advice I can give is, be aware that there are two English instruction manuals in the booklet. I made the mistake of reading the first one and spending the first fifteen minutes thinking the watch was faulty! The second English section is the one relavant to this watch. Hope you've found this review helpful.

1. Read instruction manual noting which model no. (caliber No.) the watch is.

2. Watch settings are much more easily achieved by accessing the Citizen web site to get settings instructions on screen. An 8cm. diameter disc of interactive setting instructions came with the watch but this can only be played on tray loading devices.

3. Rotation of the crown for adjustment of the mode hand can be awkward as my fingers frequently slipped on the smooth hexagon crown.

4. Setting the Local (secondary) time to a different world time zone was fine once I realised that the mode hand has to be moved from TME to L-TM to select home or “abroad” time. I had expected the 24 hr hand to indicate the Local time.

5. The watch face is principally black, the blue dial Citizen shows on-line only appears at a small viewing angle.

6. The time and date is easy to see and all 3 hands are luminous in the dark.

7. I am very pleased with the watch and strap, the watch strap was adjusted and the spare links and pins delivered with the watch.

A fantastic watch, would highly reccommend it. Was a bit concerned that the watch would not charge just being worn indoors/with office light but it works fine. The recipient of the gift is quite fussy about the type of watch he wears, and was absolutely delighted with it so good all round!

This is one lovely watch.

It fits nicely around the wrist - not big and chunky like a lot of modern watches. Not too blingy either, and a pretty readable display.

The perpetual calendar (it figures out which months have 28/29/30/31 days even in leap years) means it is nicely "smart", and the eco-drive (solar powered, so no changing batteries) means it is nicely "green". It uses an E820 movement if you want to look at its manual for all the features.

Watchshop also provided a good service in price matching (on a Sunday!), delivering very promptly, and responding very quickly to a minor problem with the bracelet.

This is a highly recommended watch, from a highly recommended dealer.

An excllent watch. Beautiful and yet very classic design. Light and easy to wear and with really sensible features that are really easy to use and enjoy. Eco Drive concept is really clever and the five year gaurentee makes it a much easier choice. Excellent value in terms of other equilivent watches.

Woud thoruoghly recommend to anyone.
