Great product and as described. Fast delivery with no fuss. It's got all the features I require without any of the useless ones. My only issue is with the strap that may degrade over time but can be d.

Pleased with the purchase of the Casio G-Shock GW-M5600-1ER. Everything what I expected, solar power, atomic radio - setting the time everyday, very light and comfortable to wear.

I have always wanted a G Shock watch and this one is perfect as it is pretty much identical to the ones made in the 80's, but with new features such as radio controlled time zones and solar panel technology so it never needs a battery.

Very happy with my purchase.

G-Shock GW-M5600-1ER rugged electronic watch with quite standard function set like – word time, stopwatch, countdown timer, few alarms, hourly signal and also few not so standard functions like auto calibration via radio signal, ability to recharge battery using sunlight, power saving function. I bought this watch not because I need something that durable, but because I just like my items apocalypse-proof. Watch itself really feels capable of surviving what every day usage can throw at it and more. In my opinion weakest part of this watch might be clasp as it seems like it won’t survive WERY strong pulling. Speaking about auto calibration – even though I live almost on edge of coverage manual radio calibration worked fine (watch showed that signal is weak but calibration succeeded) but I decided to keep it turned off since watch itself is so accurate that there is no need to keep that on automatic mode all the time, and I can calibrate it manually whenever I want. What I really like about this watch is ability to recharge battery using sunlight and power saver function. Sunlight recharging grants I won’t need to waste money to change battery and it won’t die unexpectedly – it shows how much battery remains. Power saver function turns off display at night (only if watch is in dark and not being moved) and turns display on if watch is moved, I decided to keep this on to save even more battery power. Watch has alarm that is loud enough to warn you about something but if you are heavy sleeper it might not be enough to wake you up. Watch seems to have only one thing that I would change – there is some text over solar panel. I see no point in that specific text and it only obscures sunlight, what’s more they could have made that sun battery wider instead putting black space there. All in all watch is perfect for everyday usage, travels, and adventures. Highly recommended.

This is the first digital watch I've ever bought and it is an absolute corker.

Easy to set up, easy to read, easy to use and super accurate. What else could you ask from a watch ?

I bought this watch to replace another model (G-2900F-1VER) which I had for six years before the "ten-year" battery gave out. (To my annoyance, it was going to cost me almost as much to have the battery replaced as it did to buy the watch in the first place.)

This watch lacks some of the features of my old one - there is no data storage facility, the countdown timer can be set only in 1 min increments up to one hour and has no repeat function, the alarms (five of them) cannot be set to go off on specific dates. However, I don't think I'll miss them that much, and this watch is pleasingly slim and lightweight. I found the traditional chunky G-shock watches irritatingly heavy, so much that I would take it off if sitting at my desk typing for long periods. The display is rather cluttered, but at least with useful information rather than the blinking symbols that feature on so many G-shock models and seem to have no function whatsoever. The date is in the American format (month followed by date), which is irritating. The buttons are small and recessed and have to be pressed with the edge of a fingernail, making operations a rather fiddly, hit-and-miss affair. I wouldn't be confident of using it to decide the outcome of an important race or event (particularly down to the ridiculously precise 1/100th second that all stopwatches seem to feature these days). The alarm is quieter than that of any watch I have owned. I fear I might miss it if it is hidden under clothing when I am out on a busy street, although it has managed to wake me up in the mornings so far without fail. It picks up the daily auto-correct time signal without any trouble, so is never more than half a second out. The battery is supposed to remain topped up by incident light on the watchface, and so never need replacing. The charge has never dipped below "high", but I have yet to see if it will outlast its predecessor.

So overall I'm very pleased with it, particularly its size and appearance. Suggestions to Casio for improvements: Have one louder wakeup alarm, and more prominent buttons (particularly one for stopwatch operations).

The product was exactly as descirbed within the description on the webpage. The product itself is a gift for my partner who is a fan of the G-Shock watches. The only issue I had with this product is that the back of the watch face is not engraveable as it has manufacturers markings on the back.

Required a hard-wearing watch for everyday use with a retro flare. This one does all that and more! Great features and rugged build yet retains a sleek look and low profile. Very pleased so far.

This is superb watch for the money. Well made with truly useful features encompassed in the reliable and strong G shock casing. The instructions are, as expected for a technical product, fairly difficult. This doesn't detract from this watches merits. I've been a fan of Casio products for since the early 1980's. I've had three casio watches in this time so they do last well. The straps always go before the watch ! This watch is 21st century classic for sure. Glad I made purchase from The Watch Shop as it arrived next day and was well packaged. Looking forward to years of use from this great watch.

I bought an early version of this when i was in the forces in 1988, everyone had one. It was the best watch i'd ever had. This new version has kept true to the original in size and shape and added new, even better features. What else can you ask for in a watch, it does'nt need a battery, is atomic clock accurate and is as tough as i once was! (or thought i was!). Excellent service to boot.

A great, practical classic watch. The watch is clear to read and the time is always spot on with the wave ceptor technology. Casio's usual easy to use functions are all present. The strap is strong & flexible, making ideal for wearing in tough conditions but still comfortable. An excellent buy and lot of watch for the money.

Watch exactly as described. Tough yet stylish. Clear display. Good range of functions. Radio reception is good up here in the North of Scotland. Only negative is the size and accessability of the 4 buttons. The buttons are almost recessed which makes it awkward for my large adult fingers to press them.

I bought this watch in January and its just fine.It is more pretty than it looks.

All functions are just perfect.Much to my surpise the time calibration signal is strong enouph during night(i live in Athens)but the accuracy of the watch is so much great that really you do not need to use this function.I have just set my home city (Athens) and only in March and October i use time calibration for DST.

I highly recommend it.

With Casio GW-M5600 returned almost to the unforgettable magic of '80s, the first Casio G-Shock of all time.

For the 25th Anniversary of the G-Shock, Casio presented the GW-M5600-1Er: a copy of the first G-Shock, produced in 1983.

Associated with high-tech look to the past decade, recalls the style of this clock that at the presentation, impressed the audience.

A revolutionary watch for that time, a formula (that of "Triple Ten Test" G-SHOCK) which overturned the world watches.

This clock remains intact and functioning, even after falling 10 meters, with a battery that does not require replacement, radiocontrolled and capable of up to 20 bar water resistance.

The style of the new Casio G-Shock GW-M5600-1ER refers to the design of the first G-SHOCK, retaining its retro charm but the functions are linked to modern technology standard Casio.

Solar battery power, controlled multi-band radio technology (which allows for precise time and synchronization in three continents) water resistant up to 20 bar as the most advanced model of Casio G-Shock.

Casio GW-M5600-1ER is completed also with the functions of a reliable World Time (offers the time of 48 cities), a digital stopwatch (1 / 100), a Countdown and 5 Alarms, one with snooze function.

For me is very good watch: resistant and comfortable to wear, accurate and reliable; the only negative point are the dimensions of the buttons which may be difficult to press.

At the end...

A very good purchase.

The watch itself is excellent the strap is good heavy duty and obviously the watch itself is the Excellent G Shock, I have horses and the watch stands up to everything I do in it, riding mucking out etc it. I also where the watch for work and going out. The watch can be worn for all occasions. I like the fact that I will never have to change the battery or set the time again, this watch could last me the rest of my life ( i'm only 33). I would recommend this watch for every one, both regardless of your lifestyle, it does suit all!!

The watch looks great on if you like the 'retro' look. The timekeeping is perfect, its great to know your watch is exactly the same as trains/busses/meetings etc - never be late (due to your watch anyway) again. I live in central Southampton and the clock updates by radio every night. So far the battery has never fallen bellow full, due to its solar power, but as to the long term use of solar only time will tell - I read some reviews saying the casio tough solar is a little unreliable... The watch has all the features of a normal digital watch which come in handy every now and then - countdown, stopwatch, alarms, world time but the main appeal for me are the looks , the radio controlled timekeeping and the solar power with which I have no complaints - a great watch.

What's not to like about this watch - It's a thing of rugged beauty. This to me is the ultimate no nonsence G-shock watch, It does everything a utility watch should and, with it's solar cell, should do it forever.

My wave ceptor G SHOCK arrived very quickly, looks good, receives time signal whilst I sleep (wear it in bed),no need to place on window sill for updates. Charges a bit as I walk to work, as long as the solar face isnt hidden by a sleeve.

I will leave a further review after I have been swimming a few times.

I think that this watch looks better in real life then it dose on screen. I was initially put off by its seemingly basic appearance but it's actually a very nice solid watch, tough, compact and sleek. It even goes well with a shirt and tie unlike the more bulky G-shocks.

The service I received from Watchshop UK was also very good, they exchanged my first order {G-7900-1er} which i felt was too large for my slim wrist without any problems and they even text me when my order was despatched.

A freind has already complimented my watch on its retro looks and is interested in purchasing one

I didn't hesitate in recommending Watchshop UK.

I just received this Casio GSHOCK

GW-M5600 and really love it (BTW,

smooth service from WatchShop - item arrived *before* the expected date and

in excellent packaging). I looked at it

from time to time online and kept

remembering it from the 80s era (used

to own the original model). Here are my

first impressions:

I was immediately impressed with the

quality of this watch. This is my 5th

Casio wristwatch purchased. Although

an anniversary model the quality is

of the highest standards. Solid and

robust. You can not kill this thing!

The watch performs as advertised and is

stylish enough to wear to the office or

use when I'm playing sports. If you

want a watch that's a no brainer, I

would definitely recommend this watch

because you will never have to replace

the battery because it runs on solar

power AND you never have to adjust the

time because it has atomic sync which

calibrates it.

Pros

* 5 Alarms; 1 snooze; hourly signal.

* Solar recharging.

* Auto time calibration

* different time zones.

* Solid belt.

Cons

- non really! Maybe it does not look

in sync with a tux, but then again

it's all a matter of opinion!

Overall: quality, features and peace of

mind. Go for it.

EXCELLENT WATCH-I own quite a lot of diffferent watches but i have to say this is prety much perfect. This model celebrates 25yrs of G-shocks since inception from 1983 and the GW-M5600-1ER keeps its original retro styling in this model but is crambed with the latest technology.

The first thing you notice is the watch is not large and bulky like some G-shock models but wears light and comfy on the wrist.The display is easy to read { unlike the DW-5600B-1AVER model which i also have,has the negative display and difficult to read in low light } This watch has a great feature of having the EL light automatically illuminating the face when turned 40 deg -so not having to press buttons in low light conditions-neat! This can be turned off to save power. There is also a battery charge indicator.

The atomic time keeping in CAN, USA, LON, EUR, JAPAN means the watch syncs with these atomic station, so acurate time to within 1 sec in 1,000,000 yrs and no dates to set, it automatically adjusts for British Summer time. Solar power means no replacement batteries.

Its great that this digital watch has a water resistant rating for 200m and can take a beating -so ideal for my mountain biking/ swimming activities. It has 5 alarms, including 5 min snooze repeat, hourly time beep, countdown timer for my eggs and a stop watch with 1/100 sec timing for my running. Too many other functions including world time for 29 ciites..To be honest i think Casio have a winner here..its a watch you wear to work, sport & play....also retro is in !! get one..you wont be dissapointed-its the only watch you'll probably ever need.

I also had a goood here!
