A HISTORY OF EBEL WATCHES

Ebel was born out of the ultimate partnership, where two minds came together in a perfect balance of style and innovation. Throughout the decades, the brand has responded to modern trends but always remains loyal to its classic foundation.

1911

Husband and wife team Eugène Blum and Alice Lévy combine their initials to launch Ebel (Eugène Blum Et Lévy) in the famed Swiss watchmaking centre, La Chaux-de-Fonds.

1929

The couple's son, Charles-Eugene Blum, joins the business and works to build the brand's reputation for luxury and precision.

1939-1945

The brand equips the British Royal Airforce with exclusive watches during WWII.

1970

Pierre-Alain Blum, the founders' grandson, joins the company and strengthens Ebel's name as a leading Swiss brand.

1977

The launch of the Sport Classic model marks the creation of the brand's signature wave-shaped bracelet links.

2004

Ebel is acquired by Movado Group Inc.

2011

To celebrate the brand's 100th anniversary, the Ebel Classic 100 is released, which features a vintage-inspired design.
