The skill and artistry that goes into the creation of fine watches is being explored as part of a new exhibition at a museum in Geneva.
Visitors to the Musee d'art et d'histoire can get an insight into the work and patience that goes into creating a beautiful Swiss watch, with more than a thousand items on show to illustrate the expertise of the master watchmakers.
Exploring the history of watchmaking in the country, the Magic of Craftsmanship, Treasures of Gold and Enamel exhibition goes back as far as the 16th century when the skills of Swiss horologists first began to emerge.
Charting its development up to the present day, visitors will also be able to see some of the most stunning timepieces developed in Geneva.
Watches appear to be growing in popularity in recent times, with a rise in the number of timepieces made from two metals recently being noted alongside those produced in just gold or steel.
