Watch company more popular than ever
Watch company more popular than ever

A watch company has moved to a new home and seen a rise in its business since it was taken over by the founder's daughter at the start of the year

A watch repair company has moved to a new premises and seen an increase in its trade.

Al's Clock and Watch Repair has been operating from the same address in Southampton since it opened in 2000 but founder Alfred Desorcy decided it was time to hand over the business to his daughter Theresa Leveille, Gazettenet.com reported.

On taking over the company, Ms Leveille decided to move to a new location and trade has been strong ever since.

"It's busier, there are more people looking in the window. It's amazing how many people are coming in now who say they live here and just didn't notice us on Main Street," she explained to the publication.

Ms Leveille started as an apprentice watch repairer with her father nine years ago and explained she loves to hear the stories people have about their timepieces.

The belief that people should have a strong attachment to their watches is something that was recently noted by watch company founder Richard Mille, who explained he thinks timepieces should make people smile.
