Under the spotlight: Cluse watches

First published: 18-05-2017

Cluse La Roche Petite Watch

Simple and beautiful: that's the Cluse manifesto. This Dutch brand, based in hedonistic Amsterdam, exclusively employs minimalist style across its selection of smart ladies' watches.

Every watch in the collection is unmistakably Cluse: a stripped-back design, carefully selected features, elegant and classic styling.

Intrigued? Get to grips with the range and the brand and you'll be able to find your perfect Cluse watch with ease.

The classic Cluse

Cluse La Boheme Leather Watch

A large face, a simple dial with harmonising bezel, and a soft leather strap: the foundation of Cluse design runs through most of the collection. The La Boheme watch in black leather is a beautiful example of this basic structure, with the jet black face contrasting against the gold features to create a timepiece that suits both casual and smart outfits.

Nature with a twist

Cluse La Roche Leather Watch

Designs inspired by nature and natural elements have enjoyed an increase in popularity over the past few years, with fauna and flora being found across the collections of leading watch makers.

Cluse has applied this theme with a twist in its La Roche watch, bypassing the usual flowers and insects for a beautiful marble-effect face. To really make the design alluring, the rest of the dial is fully stripped back, and the grey leather strap works to accentuate the ripples of the marble colouring in the face and tie the whole piece together.

A nod to streetwear

Cluse Pavane Mesh Watch

Taking a small step away from the usual styling, the Pavane Mesh watch is a bold take on streetwear. The metallic mesh strap adds texture to this predominantly smooth design, which features a black bezel, face, and hands.

Along with the visual variety of the bracelet, tiny diamante time indicators add a touch of glamour. It's a perfect blend of feminine elegance and urban fashion that still keeps to Cluse's 'less is more' brief.

Old fashioned romance

Cluse La Vedette Velvet Watch

At the other end of the fashion scale from the Pavane Mesh watch is La Vedette Velvet. The small and simple face with a roman numeral at 12 o'clock, the rose gold colouring, and the deep velvet strap make this timepiece well suited to those with a love for vintage style. Elegant gown or smart office wear; this watch can flatter them both. Just one example of the versatility of the Cluse range.
