Lucas de Grassi has become the Brazilian ambassador for TW Steel watches this week, the company has proudly announced
TW Steel, the Dutch watch brand known for its oversized watches, has proudly announced that it has formed a partnership with new Formula One driver Lucas di Grassi.
Making his Formula One debut at the Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix on Sunday March 14th, the 25-year-old from Sao Paulo will start the 2010 F1 World Championship on behalf of his beloved Brazil.
De Grassi is the first Brazilian Brand Ambassador for TW Steel watches, amid several months of popularity growth in South America - quite the achievement given the brand's launch was only in 2005.
TW Steel chief commercial officer Stewart Bain said that he is "extremely pleased" to join the TW Steel brand with one of Brazil's "leading young sports stars".
He added: "The great thing is that Lucas was already a fan of TW Steel watches before we engaged directly with him. His passion and enthusiasm impressed us and we wanted to capture that immediately."
Last month, TW Steel declared its first ever Distributors Conference a success after hosting its worldwide partners in Amsterdam.
