A selection of the stunning and rare timepieces produced by luxury company Patek Philippe are to go on display in Dubai

A selection of some of the most impressive watches ever created by Patek Philippe are set to go on display in Dubai soon.

The company is putting on the display of some of its finest designs at the Madinat Jumeirah from January 27th, with the famous Sky Moon Tourbillon design set to be among them.

Thierry Stern, the president of Patek Philippe, explained the exhibition is spread out over 1,500 square metres in order to give visitors the best experience of seeing the timepieces.

"Patek is well-known for not only aesthetics of the watch, but also the accuracy and precision of the movement. When you buy a watch the most important is the movement you don't see," Mr Stern explained.

Sales of watches are expected to perform well in the coming year, with the Swiss Watch Industry Federation stating it is expected demand for timepieces will grow again in the coming 12 months, following on from the success of 2011 for the industry.
