A new jewellery tag may help to ensure security and reduce the risk of loss
A new jewellery tag will enable people to keep track of their most treasured possessions.
The RFID tag has been designed specifically for being attached to jewellery items and tracking their location in real time.
Tags can be read within a range of 3 feet, making it easier to find if it gets lost under the sofa or a clothes drawer.
Each high frequency tag has a small hole in it for easy attachment to jewellery items so that it does not have any effect on the items while they are being stored.
There is growing concern over the security of jewellery, following a spate of thefts targeting these expensive high-price items.
Earlier this month, three men were arrested following the attempted theft of jewellery from Guernsey's St Peter Port's N St J Paint and Sons shop, reports the BBC.
The items, with an estimated combined value of £100,000, have since been recovered. They were uninsured.
