Jeff Gordon is widely seen as one of the best ever Nascar drivers |
In another outing for Tissot watches at Nascar, Jeff Gordon claimed a watch and a bit of pocket money for the shortest time in the pit lane in his most recent race
Jeff Gordon may not have stormed to victory like he would have wanted, but he at least got some kind of compensation from Tissot watches as a result of another great performance in this weekend's Nascar Sprint Cup.
The Pepsi 500, which was hosted on Sunday at the Auto Club Speedway in Fontana, California, may have seen Jimmie Johnson taking his fourth victory at the chequered flag yet it was Gordon who claimed the Pit Road Precision Award for spending the shortest amount of time with his crew during the race.
Gordon, who finished just behind Jimmie Johnson to grab second place in the overall race, received the award for being the person to end on the lead lap and get in and out of the pits as soon as possible, staying a paltry 295.170 seconds.
Driving the No 24 Hendrick Motorsports car, Gordon adds the Tissot watch and $5,000 (£3,160) to a number of other accolades.
Perhaps his biggest claim to fame is making the 50 Greatest Drivers list compiled by Nascar experts.
