Casey hoping to build on Australia success |
MotoGP's Casey Stoner looks forward to Malaysia after picking up the Tissot watches prize for his pole position success at the recent Australian Grand Prix
Casey Stoner is already hungry for further success, after picking up his Tissot Watch Pole Position Award for qualifying in first place for last weekend's Australian Grand Prix.
The Australian-born rider is confident of his chances at Sepang this weekend.
Stoner dispelled any fitness doubts in the Phillip Island race and the 2007 MotoGP World Champion is prepared for the heat at the Malaysian Motorcycle Grand Prix.
Commenting ahead of the testing sessions, he said: "In the past I used to like racing in the heat but last year in Malaysia I was racing with a wrist injury and I've had the physical problems everybody knows about, so I suppose it's a combination of factors that I have suffered with in recent hot races.
"Things went so well [at Philip Island] from a physical point of view that I feel reasonably confident."
Italy's 250cc rider Raffaele De Rosa and Spain's 125cc Pol Espargaro also received a Tissot watch award for their success in Australia.
