Swatch enjoys a reputation for reliability, style, cost effectiveness and flair. Since debuting its first line back in 1983, Swatch has unveiled hundreds of different permutations of watches - much to the delight of the world. Although the most popular time for Swatch occurred during the 1980's, when it seemed like everyone had a Swatch watch on their wrist, the company now enters the new millennium with a bang, creating exciting and innovative watches and manages to stay fresh and relevant year after year.

A New Concept for Watches
When Swatch - which means "Swiss-made watch" - was first launched during the early 1980s, the watchmaker had a definite idea about what it wanted to create: Fun, casual accessories that were affordable for just about everyone. Their idea took off immediately; the resulting watches were colourful, peppy and stylish. In no time flat, Swatch watches became must-have accessories, adorning the wrists of people around the world. Today, Swatch's innovation and overriding principles persist with gusto.

Inspiring Style
Swatch watches have always been synonymous with innovation and fashion. In fact, they have prompted several trends through the years; most memorably, it was once quite popular to wear two or more Swatches on one wrist. Celebrities and other luminaries regularly sport the trendy timepieces, even to this day. Anyone who's looking for a fun watch that won't break the bank would do well to consider a Swatch.

Competitive Prices
Many truly fashionable watches come with one unpleasant characteristic: a high price tag. Happily, Swatch watches have always been competitively priced so that people with all sorts of budgets can slip them on with ease - and without breaking the bank. Considering their flair and their appeal, these watches are amazingly affordable.

A Bounty of Styles to Choose From
Few watchmakers offer the vast array of different styles that Swatch does. Its Scuba line, which boasts top-notch diving watches, is perfect for outdoors enthusiasts; its Skin line, with its flat, thin designs, appeals to minimalists and to those who just prefer lightweight accessories.

Glitter and Shine with Swatch Watches
As further evidence that Swatch is the watchmaker for everybody, they produce the glamorous Swatch Bijou line for those who really want to make an impression. Swatch Bijou is a line of bona fide jewellery watches that boast elegant Swarovski crystals and other fine features. As is par for the course with Swatch products, the Bijou line is very affordable.

I bought this watch for every day use but you can wear it and in a formal occassion. To begin with the dials color is not as it is seen in photos I know that these photos are provided by the manufacturer. Nevertheless the blue color is nice, reminds me of the sea. The dial reminds me the dial of an aviation watch. The metal band is looking great having a metal clasp with push button like the one that has a divers watch. A nice detail is the red hand that indicates the seconds. It is in contrast with the blue dial. The box of the watch is the usual cheap plastic of a Swatch watch, but you wear the watch not the box. To sum up a great looking automatic watch for formal & casual occasions. Great buy for the price range. Value for money watch. As for the delivery, I receive it in 24 hours not bad for outside the UK. P.S. Bear in mind that this watch is heavier than the plastic Sistem 51 watches because of the metal band.

Love all swatch watches. I like this one in particular because I have very slim wrists and this fits perfectly. Clear to read and lightly smarter than the more fun versions of swatch watches.

Well I certainly felt like the cat that got the cream when I received my Sistem 51 Cream Swatch and thanks to the Watch Shops next day delivery policy ordered before 4.00pm I was able to enjoy it that much sooner! The watch has a comfortable leather cream strap which compliments the black dial, white/black hands and a red sweep hand. The back of the watch reveals the automatic movement mechanism which is fascinating and hypnotic in equal measure. The time keeping is exceptional for a mechanical watch in this price range - I find all watches in the Sistem 51 range extremely stylish and I am considering buying another one. Well done Swatch and Watch Shop!!!

Ive had 6 or 7 Swatches over the years, one of which was an older ETA Automatic from the early 90s. That kept good time for an automatic but over the years the plastic case perishes and the lugs on the case that the strap pin pushes through decay. Consequently the Swatch Irony range always made more sense to me in terms of longevity. The Sistem51 automatics first got my attention in the NYC Times Square store early last year. I liked the design concept of a simplified automatic with 51 parts built by robots and promised myself one should they ever get the Irony Treatment. Theres little point going to the nth degree when reviewing Swatches, they are designed to be very similar construction of course, its all about the aesthetics, which is subjective. In short then, lovely well made watch with a pleasing heft. By no means heavy but you know its there for a dressier watch. High quality leather strap that takes a day to bend to your wrist. The main thing I would say to any potential purchasers is that the blue face is paler and more subtle than the marketing photography. Initially I wasnt convinced but having had some wrist time I can say the subtle pale blue metallic face is very sophisticated and nice to look at on a daily basis. There are plenty of You Tube video reviews coming through so have a quick look yourselves. Theres also a little play in the movement when setting the time non-hacking and the second hand can move and skip 5-10 seconds forward I hate that, looks cheap. But if you nudge the mechanism forward to the desired time it keeps decent accuracy and is fit for purpose. Too early to comment on reliability but for 127 all seems well at the moment and there is a 24 month guarantee etc. Its my second watch from Watchshop and they are ruthlessly efficient, very good service the click and collect. All in all, Im happy. Best regards.
