Rating: Excellent (5 / 5)
This is the second watch bought from the WatchShop. Their range is extraordinarily wide and prices very competitive. The website is easily navigated and the payment process easy. Delivery, even to here in the Scottish Highlands is very quick. Overall, very happy with the service and, of course, the watch.

I came to the Watch Shop website to look for a nice divers style watch after been very pd at Breitling for massively increasing their overhaul service charge from £360 to £530 in the space of 4 years, anyhow enough of that.\r\n\r\nI was stuck between this model and also the Tissot PRS 516 which I reviewed earlier. The Watch Shop had/has a promotion running which you receive 20 percent off the price of the cheapest watch you purchase, when you purchase two or more watches. With this in mind I decided to order both as I couldn’t decide which I liked the best and I then later decided to keep them both, so I had a choice of watch to choose from. I reviewed the TIssot PRS 516 watch earlier, just to make potential purchasers aware of this. I will point out that the Tissot V8 shares many common features with the Tissot PRS 516, but has variations on its finish, stap and also a slightly different face.\r\n\r\n==Design & appearance==\r\nThe watch is absolutely stunning and looks far more expensive that the £310 asking price. The thing that strikes me about Tissot, is they make fantastic looking watches that look very classy and look much more expensive than they are, plus they are really well made, reliable time pieces, but without the sky high prices we see from the other Swiss watch makers.\r\n\r\nThe finish on the strap is a brushed finish on the outer sides of the strap and the central link in the strap is a polished finish. It is a nice combination and looks very nice and further makes the watch look a lot more expensive than it is. The extreme edges of the strap are a brushed finished. The strap is very well made and has solid stainless steel links and is equally up to the strap my Breitling had on it in my opinion. The watch case has a brushed finish on the sides, and the top has a polished finish.\r\n\r\nThe fastener on this watch has a double fastener. Basically, you fold the fastener closed and it then clicks shut, you then have a small security clasp that then folds over the first fastener to provide a double closure fastener. Also on the fastener is the Tissot logo, which is engraved into the fastener. I hope the photos show the strap fastener etc off more clearly.\r\n\r\n==Buttons & operating the watch==\r\nOn the right handside of the watch is the crown for setting time, adjusting date and also the two chronograph buttons for to start/stop, reset. The buttons have a lovely quality feel/click to them.\r\n\r\n==The watch face==\r\nNow, lastly onto the watch face. The model I got has the dark grey/black face and has three dials, two of which are used when using the chronogragh/stopwatch and the very bottom one is the 60 second timer which runs all the time to indicate the current time. The Tissot V8 is available with different coloured faces, blue, white, ivory, I will point out.\r\n\r\nThe top two dials are from left to right, left is the 30 minute timer and the right handside one is the 1/10 sec timer, these are used when you are using the chronograph to indicate the elapsed time. The second had pointer for the chronograph is a large polished silver hand which remains at the 12 o’clock position when you are not using the chronograph. The two chronograph dials have silver polished hands and so too has the bottom 60 second timer. The chronograph dials are circled with a polished silver dial that I hope can be seen in my photos, this really gives the dials some detail and really makes them very distinguished looking. \r\nThe hour and minute hands are polished silver and have an iluminous coating on them. The 12, 4, 8 on the watch face are written with the same iluminous coating that we see on the hour and minute hands. Also the 1, 2, 5, 6, 7, 9, 10, 11 hour markers are painted with the same iluminous coating. At the 3 o’clock position is the date window, which shows the date of the month.\r\n\r\nAt the 6 o’clock position is the wording “Swiss Movement” just to remind you that Tissot are a Swiss watch maker and have been since 1853. \r\nTo crown the face off is a black bezel which shows Tachymeter display for calculating speeds. I’ve heard that Tissot watches tend to be very accurate but I suppose only time will tell if you pardon the pun. This watch has the G10.211 caliber/movement, which on reading up on it, on various watch forums, it is a well proven, accurate, reliable movement.\r\n\r\n==Whats in the box==\r\nThe watch comes in a rather weird box design, which folds out from its square shape, to reveal the square section where the watch, instruction manual and other paperwork are. And also included is a booklet telling you a bit about the history of Tissot. But thats all, but what else would you need included with a watch.\r\n\r\n==To sum up==\r\nAll in all I cannot recommend this watch enough and also Watch Shop. Delivery is quick from the Watch Shop and orders are sent out on a next day delivery service. Also, the Watch Shop will adjust your watch strap prior to sending the watch out to you free of charge, or its possible to take the watch into a Goldsmiths shop with receipt and they will also alter free of charge. Last option is, the Watch Shop will reimburse you, if you take your watch into a local, watch battery replacement shop, key cutting shop and have them do the alteration, up to a maximum of £5 per watch. This is what I did, as there is no Goldsmiths in my area and also, I wasnt to sure on the sizing, so I figured getting the alteration done locally would be better as I would really need to be there, to have the strap sized properly. I will definitely buy from the Watch Shop again when I’m in the market for another watch.
