VERIFIED WATCHSHOP BUYER (PURCHASED: FRI 15TH JUL 2011)
First time i've bought a branded watch and I can see what the fuss is about. Firstly, the watch comes excellently packaged in a case that is designed to either stand on end on a bookshelf and look like a set of books or kept nicely in a drawer as a decorational box. It comes with a brochure of the current range, a history of Tissot and user guide, warranty etc neatly concealed on the inside.
It's these details that are continued onto the watch. I wanted something a little unusual that was smart enough for work but different enough to stand out without the need for a chronograph or giant face.
The leather strap has a white contrast stitch through it which I was concerned about on the website images but in reality is very tasteful and smart (the white is not as brilliant white as made out on the website and as a result looks neater in my opinion). The watch face is effectively 3 layers, operating a bit like a ven diagram. The left is a standard face with numbers, the right hand side is plain with markings for the hours and the date window. This is more unusual as the date window is wider uncovering a range of dates on the dial with the middle being today, unlike other watches which just show today's date. The middle panel is effectively corrugated giving a pin strip effect when looked at closely. From a distance the face just looks like a solid black face, hence it's the details that catch the eye up close.
The watch is an automatic quartz meaning there is no battery unlike the other PRC200 models. When you first use the watch you are required to unscrew the dial and wind up for the first time, the watch is then recharged via your natural movements.
The under side of the watch is see through allowing you to see the movements involved in this.
The other nice detail is the strap which is leather but operates a clasp similar to metal watches. This means the leather doesn't get stretched and marked with taking the watch off/ putting it on, which should increase the life of the leather.
In all I am really impressed by the watch and for the price I think is great value for a swiss made renowned brand. If you're not after super luxury but want quality then I can definitely recommend this especially give the automatic nature of the watch.

Great & stylish, looks and feels a quality watch. Strap clasp is a little bit awkward to get used to, elegant pinstripe effect on face dial, simple to operate, comfortable to wear.
