VERIFIED WATCHSHOP BUYER (PURCHASED: TUE 28TH DEC 2010)
I bought this when it was £125, at which time this watch deserves a 4/5.
negatives:
there is no individual date set function, if you need to change the date, you have to keep winding the time forward 24 hours, this doesn't take long if you only need to shuffle forward a few days, but setting it initially if the date is wrong by several weeks can take 5 minutes or so of winding.
as it is a fairly low cost automatic, the accuracy does suffer, mine will gain about 3 minutes every few days, so if you want it to be within a minute of the real time, expect to be resetting it every other day.
the hands do have glow in the dark sections, but they don't hold their energy very well, they certainly won't glow at night from the light they collected during the day, and even holding a torch over the face will only make the hands glow for 10 minutes before they fade out.
the crown (used for changing the time and manual winding) unscrews slightly before you can pull it out, and similarly needs to be screwed back up when you are done, I assume this is part of the waterproofing.
positives:
the watch face itself is not an average watch face, with the date being represented by a hand, having a power meter, and having the balance wheel and various other bits on display from the front (and most of the inside is visible from the transparent back).
you should never have to manually wind the watch (even though you can) as the watch builds a lot of power off relatively little movement, as a test I wore it for a 10 minute shower and built about 5 hours of power.
most of all automatics do have a lot of natural charm to them, you will also of course never run out of batteries.
conclusion:
the only major issues with this watch is its need to be reset often to stay accurate, if you bookmark a webpage which has the exact GMT time, then you can find out exactly how many minutes it is out by after 2-3 days and then you can just correct it by that much every 2-3 days, and then check it again at the start of every month when you need to correct the date (if last month wasn't a 31 day month).
ultimately if you don't care for automatics there is not much point in getting this watch, but if you do appreciate a true mechanical watch, then this is good watch for the price (£125).

VERIFIED WATCHSHOP BUYER (PURCHASED: THU 1ST JAN 1970)
The style & look was exactly what I was looking for but it just isn't a practical watch given it's target market.
Advertised as Sport Luxury, however it is quite a chunky & heavy watch which makes it completely impractical when you are participating in most sporting activities as you have this heavy, bulky watch clanking around your wrist.
Setting the date is awkward, not good considering it does not have a perpetual calendar, but given how small the text for date is on the watch face it's not so important as it's so hard to read.
Accuracy wasn't that great, the watch lost around 10 seconds every day.
I managed to damage the strap during a game of squash, something which I would have hoped that the watch would cope with given that it's supposed to be a Luxury Sports Watch. It would appear that it is all but impossible to find a replacement band for this watch and Timex themselves are unresponsive.
