I bought this watch as a gift for my future husband for our wedding day. It is a beautifully simple yet attractive watch. The brown leather strap is high quality with a double-toothed flat styled buckle as the fastener. It has contrast stitching running up the outer edges. The unusual khaki/cream face gives this watch a unique style and look. Often, the faces of mensí watches are enormous and for those who dont have particularly chunky wrists, this can be a real problem. The slightly smaller face on this watch is just perfect. It is water resistant to 10 bar, and has a stainless steel casing. The hands go down to a very fine point, which makes reading the minutes very easy, and are also luminous including the second hand. A particularly attractive feature one of the main reasons I purchased it! is the skeleton back - it is delightful to be able to see the intricate workings of the Swiss mechanical automatic movement. Just beautiful. The only negative point would be that the hour markings are not spotted out in luminous paint, which reduces the accuracy of nighttime reading slightly - however, this would not prevent me from highly recommending this watch.

An update on my review of 6th August. The problem with the minute and hour hand alignment was fixed quickly. I got the watch back within ten days. However, after several weeks I noticed the automatic winding mechanism was not operating well. On a full wind the watch continued working for between 45 to 55 hours. On one occasion I got it to last 73 hours, but this was only by periodically taking it off my wrist and waving it in a circular twisting movement for several minutes, in such a way that I could hear the rotor spin. The rotor spun freely only when the watch is almost wound down. With any degree of reserve in the spring it was sluggish and moved only with the encouragement of a sharp twist, not under gravity by itself. When fully wound, the rotor did not move at all. It was certainly incapable of keeping a reasonable power reserve in the spring.
I continued wearing it for a month or so, hoping the rotor would free itself but at the beginning of November I sent it back to Hamilton. I have just got it back, a month later. The rotor now swings freely and I have hopes it will auto-wind normally.
How was a watch with such obvious faults released for sale? Why did a brand-new watch have to be returned twice? Maybe I just bought a Friday afternoon lemon, but my experience raises concerns about Hamiltons quality control. A pity since, as I mentioned in my original review, I love the watch itself. Perhaps I can now enjoy using it for a few months!

In every respect save one the watch is ideal for my requirements. I love the retro design, reminiscent of a 1940s WW2 style. It is a straightforward, unpretentious timepiece with I hope the advantage of modern technology. I have not had it long enough to be sure of accuracy, but so far is seems to gain just two or three seconds out per day - pretty good for a mechanical watch. If I want to nit-pick, one improvement would be the edge of the minute and hour hands. The centre is a luminous white material but the edges are silver metallic and visibility would be a little improved if these edges were black. Same applies to the second hand. In most lights they look black anyway and this is a very minor criticism.
The size of the watch is also ideal, 38mm is about as large as I want for comfort. My photo shows the watch on my very thin seven inch wrist.
HOWEVER, I am returning this watch because the minute and hour hands are not aligned accurately. There is a six-minute difference, so that when the hour hand is exactly on the hour, the minute hand is at six minutes past the hour. When the minute hand is exactly at twelve, the hour hand still has half a minute to travel before reaching the hour.
The difference is sufficient to be noticeable at a glance and is especially noticeable on the half and quarter hours. A small difference might be tolerated, but an error of ten percent in a watch of this quality is surely unacceptable. It might not bother some people, but I notice it every time I look at the watch. It is an annoying speck of grit in an otherwise delightful purchase.
I am hoping the watch will be adjusted or replaced quickly. It is extremely frustrating not to be able to wear it, when everything else about it is ideal.
I have also been pleased with Watchshop service which has been prompt and efficient.

I had been looking to replace my current elderly wrist watch and having a relatively small wrist did not want the rather large watches currently generally available. I liked the slightly retro styling of the Hamilton Khaki series and decided to buy it unseen.
I am delighted with it! It is slightly thinner than expected which is a bonus and fits, with its good quality leather strap, very comfortably on my wrist. It also look very good with its light cream face.
I am delighted with it and the service and delivery was excellent.

very pleased with the watch. Just love the engineering that can be appreciated through the clear glass back.
