Overall a great watch. The titanium band and case make it extremely light and sometimes you don't even notice that you have a watch on. The face of the dial is a little bit darker that what is shown in the pictures but look good anyways. The only bad thing about this watch is that it is very difficult to adjust at the beginning. The manuals are almost useless as the setup of the watch is very different from what is said in the manuals. It is a bit annoying but can be figured out over time. Overall i would say a brilliant watch.

Choosing an appropriate time-piece is as important to a fella as choosing a car;
I was looking for a masculine but understated watch, suitable for all outfits and all outings, that would give me pleasure every time I glance at it... and I couldn't afford an Omega Seamaster.

I have owned this watch for a fortnight and it does the job, honourably:

Although fiddly to set-up, it has just the right amount of gimmicky technology to keep the nerdy side of my personality happy (a visually-entertaining stopwatch and a solar-powered dial complete with an energy-saving second-hand that whizzes back to position when you take it out of the dark).
The alarm is too quiet, time-consuming and fiddly for me to use, and the local-time (hourly-difference) setting I doubt I'll use ever without re-reading the instruction book, but that shouldn't distract from the character this watch contains.

Cosmetically, the face is really beautifully crafted and it's actually a treat to gaze at the dial in detail when I'm waiting by myself. It surprises me when the tiny silver arrows around the edge catch the light, reminding me that it's also an attractive piece of jewellery and although I'm not the kind of guy who'd flash something so material as a watch, I've noticed it certainly gets some quiet attention. Also, that blue bezel is much richer and darker than it looks in photos online, which is another modest hint of quality.

Practically, the titanium bracelet is solid, quick to use and very light - I don't suppose I'll ever wear a stainless-steel watch after this. Timpson quoted me £35 to replace the glass if it broke, and I am still very cautious about scratching it. Interestingly, when seeking information in a local jewelers, I was advised that the Japanese-build quality did not match that of its main Swiss-rival, Tissot, whose glass and mechanism should last closer to a lifetime than Citizen's meagre 5-years. However, the chunky-but-tidy masculine looks of the Citizen won me over, and although I have since looked at similar-looking Omega Seamasters (I caught a glimpse of one on the arm of my colleague literally the day after this arrived!) I now regard it as an elegant and confident time-piece in its own right and look forward to wearing it every time.

If you think it'd suit you then I'd recommend you get one, but I'd feel less exclusive..!

The Citizen Eco-Drive Perpetual Calendar Titanium Watch.

Question ! Why did I buy from The Watch Shop?
Answer ! It was quite simple they offered a very competitive price. I liked the way their website worked. It was very efficient & most of all the sizing service was very very good.
The watch itself as you can see is titanium very light for a mans watch & the blue bezel is very attractive with the solar face of the watch which is its main feature. It charges by light! Where then it will still keep time when fully charged in the dark for around six months but why keep such a nice looking watch in the dark for that length of time!
All the features of the watch are easily straight forward to follow thanks to the active CD you get with the watch in its presentation box.
So overall this Citizen ticks all the boxes & should last you a lifetime & for that reason I bought it & I like it very much. So if you want a watch that pretty much shouts I've got everything you need to tell the time.... just buy it !!

Great next day service from the Watch Shop, ordered 3pm and needed strap links adjusted and the watch still came next day :-). The Watch is great, looks good, the qaulity and feel of the watch and strap is good and it is very light on your wrist (must be the Titanium) The luminous hands show up really well in the dark to. Overall i`m very pleased so far

I ordered this watch after a lot of searching. So far I am very happy with it.
It looks great and the Titanium makes for a lighter than average watch which I like.

This is my third Citizen in 13 years and the only problems I had had with the others are due to the abuse they have received. The Eco-Drive is great and will run for weeks with no light at all.

The only minor issues I have are the strap is harder than previous models to adjust so if possible get the Watch Shop to do it for you when you order and that the glass scratches easier than I would like. I already have 2 small marks.
Oh and use the video's on Citizen's web site for setting instructions, much easier than the instruction book!

This is a stunning feature-packed watch which seems tough enough for everyday use and yet stylish enough for that special occasion. The face and bezel are in a beautiful understated blue colour which reacts fantastically with light hitting it. The face has an unusual, interesting detail akin to carbon-fibre. The strap is comfortable, easily fastened and unfastened, and was quickly adjusted at Mr Glitzo, our local jeweller. All in all a fine purchase, my new pride and joy.

I had an Eco-drive for the last 9 years without a problem and decided it was time to update it. I was a little apprehensive buying on the picture alone but I've had the watch a month and am extremely happy with it. The blue face looks great and even better than it appears online, the dials and markings are clear, well laid out and easy to read, the functions are relatively easy to use and the bracelet solid and professional. All in, a very impressive watch for which I haven't yet found any downsides and that looks like it cost a lot more than it actually did.

A good looking watch, that has a darker blue face than the pictures you see online, which is good. It's also light because of its titanium strap and case.

Setting it up was a bit of a nightmare as I found the instructions to be very difficult to follow. However, Citizen UK have an excellent website with a section showing and telling you what to do and using that made things simple.

The only thing is I'm becoming obsessed with getting it in to the light so it can suck up power. It probably doesn't need it but there's no indication of when its full so, you never can be too carefull.

Rating - Excellent if you forget about the time spent setting it up

blue color is just beautifull and it looks even better on sunshine.
you really need to read manual to set time and date but once you set it you never need to touch it.
Absolutly recommend this watch they are Excellent.

I was unsure about buying a watch without seeing it in the flesh first but I needn't have worried - this is a beautiful watch. The bezel is a tasteful navy blue which isn't as bright as the photos on the web suggest. I also like the look of the titanium bracelet which has a brushed finish rather than being shiny. The case diameter excluding the crown is 42mm which means it's a good size for my wrist. The watch was delivered promptly with the bracelet adjusted precisely to my measurement.

Very good service, the watch arrived next day, and on the whole I was very impressed with a very smart watch, which was fairly easy to set up with the instructions. Alarm was a little quiet, and I personally found the bezel too large in the flesh, but as watchshopuk.com will exchange or refund its no problem to swap for a citizen 8700 instead.

Excellent quality watch. I am impressed with the titanium strap and the blue bezel makes the watch stand out. It glows well in the dark and a clever feature is that the second hand stops when there is no light, to save power; when you turn the light on it springs back to the correct time. The strap was a little difficult to adjust for different wrist sizes, but no major problem. Ordered on saturday, and it came on tuesday. Excellent service from watchshopuk, I wont hesitate to use this shop again.

This is a superb watch and it looks fantastic. The blue accents make it very distinctive. Setup is a little complicated, but for a day-to-day watch whose batteries never need changing, its unbeatable in my opinion. The addition of a stop-watch is a nice touch, so is the perpetual calendar - both a must for me. Add to a clear display, lovely marking and that blue sheen (again)! its awesome. The titanium case and bracelet make it incredibly light and you do forget youre wearing it at times. Finally, dont be afraid when the second hand appears to have stopped! its just the energy saving feature - and time is still ticking away!

Very light watch as its made of Titanium and not Stainless steel as mentoined in the description. Watch looks quite expensive and my mates were very impressed by it. The watch was delivered the next day though it was a saturday and it arrived just after 9:00 AM. Very impressed with the delivery commitment of Watch Shop UK.
