A very stylish and classic design that will age well and not look dated.
As an Aircrew Paramedic I find the watch is robust enough to withstand the rigours of my working environment whilst being easy to read, even in low light, and maintaining accurate time. Plus the black face and titanium case and bracelet compliment each other well, meaning it does not look out of place in social or more formal occasions.
The fit is very comfortable to wear, the bracelet not pinching or pulling at all. Whilst the weight is comfortably reassuring without being overbearing. The perpetual calendar and eco-drive mean there is no on-going fuss at the end of each month or when the batteries run out.
I found understanding the various settings fairly easy once I had been through the instructions.
The alarm is quite quiet and only lasts for 15 seconds. Which means it probably wouldn't be much use in a loud environment or as a wake up alarm if you are a heavy sleeper!
All in all a very good watch at a reasonable price that should last a lifetime.

I have just taken delivery of my second BL5250-53L--in a month!! As I said in my review,a few weeks ago, the watch is fantastic so when my son saw it he immediately wanted one!!!
I have used mine now for over 3 weeks and am still appreciating it more every day;as I said,it is the star of my Eco-Drive collection. For the man who loves 'function' it is ideal and it looks stunning--like the altimeter of a Spitfire!!!!

This is the third member of my Eco- Drive collection,it is the clearest and easiest to read of all the watches I've ever owned!!
I've bought it now because the only fault-with the original-has been eliminated;the mode cannot be accidentally changed because,now the crown must be pulled out one click before any change can be made.I leave the mode on chrono so that I am instantly ready to time any event !! This superb timepiece has everything I've ever wanted except a screw-down crown but I don't think I am ever going to take it scuba-diving!! So a dream come true-FABULOUS!!!!!

I bought this product for my boyfriend 21st birthday and he absolutely loved it! It's weight is perfect not to light but not to heavy. The design is modern. Overall this product is a perfect buy!

This is a very poor product. It provided the time perfectly unlit the clocks changed, then it was impossible to change the time. Instructions provided are awful. All I wanted to do was put the hour back by one hour but managed to set the date 8 days into the future, set the time to 5 hours ahead & and to set the alarm. Waste of mo

I absolutly love this watch! I's chuncky enough to be cool, but still fits under my shirt cuff. The strap is very adjustable, with half links and micro adjustment on the clasp. Compared to steel watches it is amazingly light! the non-refelective face is so clear its hard to tell it's there. You have to read the manual (ad then watch the help videos!) that come with the watch if you want ANY chance of using the alarm or stopwatch, it also takes a several seconds for the watch to swap modes. I can't belive that I have such a sharp looking titanium watch that I will never need to change the battery or alter the date, at this price.

I purchased this watch for my boyfriend at Christmas time following a lot of questioning about it's suitability. The watch arrived quickly and he was totally made up with it. Exactly what he had hoped for. Very sleek and stylish with many usefull features. Attractive looking item with detailed dial and fully workin chronograph.The only downside is the alarm which is not very loud. other than that highly recommended item.

I've had the watch for a week now and so have been able look at it in more detail. Here are the key features:

Pros:

I synchronised the watch with a radio controlled clock and after a week the time is spot on, to the second.



Light weight; my watch strap is 17cm, this gave a weight of 113g.



Easy to read in the day or night.



Solar powered, no need to replace batteries.



Cons:

Changing modes (to 2nd time, chronograph & alarm) when on the wrist can be fiddly as the crown has to be pulled out to the 1st position.



In the 2nd time mode (L.TM) it adjusts the time in relation to the 1st time mode in 1hr increments which makes this mode useless if you travel to India a lot.



Verdict

This is a well engineered watch, with good quality throughout. I have over 10 watches ranging from £50 to £700 and I would definitely have this watch in my collection.

The watch is perfect, a gift to my husband to be. It is smart has a lot of gadgets and is exactly what l wanted. It is sophisticated with the dark face and titanium strap, and looks the part without being too expensive. Great buy!

Just received my new watch in less than 48 hours and it feels a solid, well designed piece of kit. I had read elsewhere that the lightness of the titanium strap made it feel too light, but the watch still has a nice weight to it without feeling too heavy.

The only downside that I have come across so far is that Citizen seem to have updated the mechanism to E820 from E81*, this means that a common complaint of the crown being knocked and changing mode has been removed. But as the manual and CD in the box have not been updated it is a little hard to workout how to set the watch. A fantastic all round professional watch from Citizen. Looks smart on the wrist and has been a pleasure to use over the last few months. Eco-Drive is outstanding, allowing you to never worry about your watch being slow or fast ever again. The strap is comfortable and fully adjustable with little effort. As well as being smart and functional, the Titanium strap is durable and doesn't scratch easily. This watch is the ideal solution for those seeking a good value mid-range, branded Chronograph. Looks are superb with the contrasting black face and titanium finish.

On the wrist it looks impressive yet feels light and comfortable.

Accurate time for two time zones, chronograph, perpetual calendar, alarm and waterproof to 200m make this the ideal watch for all occasions.

BL5250-53L Mens perpetual calendar Titanium Chronograph Eco-Drive watch



I like, no, love, watches. I have 4 Oris, a Seiko, a Longines and a number of others BUT my outdoor/travel/activity always to be counted on watch is a citizen eco-drive and always will be.



I’ve had my trusty eco-drive (on the left) for well over 10 years and have abused it thoroughly at home, abroad, in water, desert and jungle alike and it has never let me down, alas being a man I wanted a new one with a few more features, BUT it had to be an Eco-drive.



I found a few candidates but soon narrowed it down to the BL5250 because it had all the features of my old watch alarm, waterproof, stop watch and uni-directional bezel but had very useful additional features including local time mode, (handy for traveling) a perpetual calendar (handy for not having to reset the date!) and it’s titanium which is great because it’s big, and therefore not heavy.



On arrival I was delighted with it, I changed the titanium strap for a rubber one as I was going camping and it performed really well.



I didn’t like the crown initially as there didn’t seem to be positive enough click when pulling out to adjust the features but I have got used to that now and it’s fine.



The lume is OK, I had expected it to be a bit brighter but it allows me to tell the time easily at night and that’s all you really need lume to do!



I found a great review on Youtube by Watchshop which highlighted the features and compared the two variants, I was sold and went to the site and bought it there and then.



They even altered the strap to fit my wrist FOC before sending



All in all, a great watch from a great retailer with simply oodles of choice!

Great looking watch and good service from watch shop. Decided on the titanium bracelet version as opposed to the leather strap as it looks smarter and more robust. Had problems with settings as movement different to that in the included instructions, however visited the Citezen web-site and found the correct information.

Delivery took 2 days, a delay with Royal Mail's fault and not Watch Shop.

Good service and price from watch shop, with watch delivered as promised on time. Good watch functions easy to use, not to heavy on the wrist and smart looking. Close inspection reveals that the back plate is made of stainless steel and not titanium, this is a problem if like me you have an allergy to nickel. Unfortunately for this reason I have had to return the watch

This is a very handsome, sporty looking chronograph. On my puny wrist it definitely looks on the chunky side. It was a wee bit fiddly to set the date and time, but now I understand all the functions, I am sure it will be easy to adjust. Watch Shop adjusted the bracelet perfectly before sending it to me. Overall, I am very pleased with a terrific looking watch.

WatchShop UK are the muts nuts. Excellent watch and light too. Like others the strap adjustment is fiddly and if Id known/found out more easily I would have got WatchShop to do it for me before posting but otherwise I cant see a reason to go to buy a watch anywhere else. Good service....which makes a change these days

The service from Watch Shop UK is excellent. I wanted to see the watch and have bracelet adjusted before buying the watch so I visited them to do this. I think the watch is great except for one thing having just finished setting it up, the Alarm Volume, you can hardly hear it so there is no chance it will wake you up. I bought this watch because I wanted an Eco-Drive with an alarm instead of another titanium Citizen so I now have to consider if I want to return this watch. Having had the problem I looked around on the Internet and there are a few reviews saying this is the way the watch is, one in particular says Citizen are aware of this so it is not a fault and cannot be changed. Aside of the alarm it is a fantastic watch and would recommend Watch Shop for service and price. If the alarm was louder I would award this watch full marks.

Exceeds all expectations in looks and operation. This watch does everything that I expected and more. The manual (which is also supplied on a mini CD) is easy to understand without being too geeky. The mini CD also contains videos of easy to follow setting instructions for all the watches functions. The service from WATCHSHOPUK was excellent and highly recommended. I would only suggest that if you are buying a watch with a metal bracelet, you use the WATCHSHOPUKs free adjustment service (I didnt and it was a little tricky altering the bracelet myself, but saying that it wasnt impossible).

Watch Shop Team: This watch is water resistant to 200 metres and is suitable for swimming and diving, however it should not be used for extreme depths that require helium. The case and bracelet metal are made from titanium, and the glass is mineral crystal glass, so the watch is very hard wearing.
