A nice smart watch. Like the fact it shows the day & date, comfortable strap with easy fastening, like the fact that hands glow, brilliant that it does not need batteries, as it it one of the eco-drive range. The colour of the face was darker than expected, but this did not put me off.

Really pleased with this as I have slim wrists, so it doesn't look too huge on me. Really like the shallow depth on the body. Had to download instructions from Citizen website to set the date/time correctly, but it was very easy. Would have preferred a lighter weight, but they didn't do a silver/stainless steel finish in the right size for the tungsten models. Nonetheless, I like my purchase.

Question: why buy a Citizen eco-drive watch?
The search was on for a watch for all occasions; something that wouldn't look out of place while plumbing the new shower or attending the captain's cocktail party on QM2. Nothing too large or ostentatious either. Being delicate of frame and wrist, the town hall clock-size timepiece would throw me off balance and the many functions of the chronograph would be too puzzling. Something basic and easy to read was the order of the day.
Senior Management (aka my wife) already owned two Citizen eco-drives and recommended them enthusiastically. This is backed up by the fact that she wears one or the other all waking hours.

My previous watch was a freebie, offered as an inducement to buy a shirt. Unfortunately, the shirt in my size was not available but they sent the watch anyway and it has served its purpose for a number of years. Time for a change then.
Googling round the net brought up WatchShop.com and a large range of impressive looking machinery. bearing in mind the aforementioned criteria, it didn't take long to choose. The day/date watch with the blue face and white hands seemed ideal.
The watch was duly ordered and turned up in no time at all. By a strange coincidence, the very moment the package was opened, the old watch stopped. A good omen?
I am really impressed. The white hands stand out well from the subtle blue of the face, easily satisfying the clarity criterion. The day/date display is a bit on the small side but is no problem since this information can be seen on the front page of the Telegraph. An added bonus is that when the light gets dim, the hands become luminous, a great help to me, being somewhat chronologically challenged and suffering the inevitable eye deterioration. As for size; spot on and quite slim.
So, why buy this Citizen eco-drive watch? Because it's elegant and stylish, looks right, is fun to wear and will shine on all occasions. Oh, and very important, there'll be no chance of the battery expiring when I'm half way across the Sahara or trekking in the Amazonian rain forest.

Citizenship is cool!

I was looking for a man size watch that would not look too big on my small wrist and this watch suited very well . The hands are luminous in the dark which is also a plus. If you like silver, both watch and bracelet look very good.
The silver markers on black face are not as strongly pronounced as the hands but easy enough to read .

Very nice watch with a clear dial which is easy to read, which was what I wanted as I had to put my specs on to see my last one.
