I had been looking for a new watch for absolutely ages on line. I must be pretty discerning because I only found a couple of watches that fit the bill and they seemed to be out of stock at every retailer that Google could find. And then I found the catchily named Mens Citizen Calibre 8700 Alarm Eco-Drive Watch BL8097-01E.

There were two parts to the brief for my new watch. Firstly, the features. I wanted something water resistant. I am not a diver but I do swim and I do a lot of cycling where I am liable to get wet. I also wanted something solar powered. There is something very settling about the fact that I wont have to change the battery - ever and not only will I save money on batteries, I wont have to deal with people charging me extortionate amounts of money to properly seal it (for water resistance) every time it runs out juice. It also has a stop watch, a perpetual calendar, luminous dials and you can set it to tell the time in two time zones when you are abroad.

All very well but what does it look like? In my view this is the perfect watch for all occasions. It is smart enough for wearing at work or going out but it is also a very cool sports watch. The face is very clear without being overstated and the strap is comfortable.

Looking around, and I did - exhaustively , this is extremely good value. Definitely recommended.

the watch itself looks great when you get it home,when i got it out of the box thinking i had to adjust it the watch was already adjusted the watch is all in black and it,s not heavy and looks very smart the price is very good to, if your thinking of buying one you won,t be disappointed

It is stylish and neat, not too chunky for a sports watch, so you could also wear it for a more dressy occasion. The leather strap makes it much lighter. Very competitive price. I liked the idea of solar power and not having to change batteries. A good 30th birthday gift, I hope he likes it!

I researched for a long time and am very pleased with this watch. Product is amazing, the weight, size and colours are well balanced especially when I do not have the thickest of wrists! The Instructions and set up were quick and simple. Would highly recommend to anyone thinking of buying.

Really good watch brought as a present. Loved the black dial and black leather strap. Looks really smart and fingers crossed who I brought it is just as pleased!

Excellent watch. My other half has been looking for a watch for years and recently came across the citizen eco drive and now he wont take it off.



I am hoping the battery is going to be as good as a rotary watch that he had for 16 years but only time will tell.

The watch looks great along with excellent build quality. I bought the leather strap for a lighter option. I find it great to have the watch readjusting the dates and months itself - another less things to think about when the month finishes on 30th day. The instruction manual is clear and the watch is really easy to use. A great buy!
