Fantastic Service and value. The only problem is that if the watch does not get enough light on your wrist to charge the battery, the screen goes blank during the night

This is my first Protrek and I am really impressed. I bought it to replace a 9 yr old Casio. The functions are great. The compass is accurate for general direction and navigating. I just want to say that this watch looks fantastic on the wrist, and it has a decent size. I like all of the features provided on this watch. First of all, the Altimeter, Barometer, and Compass are amongst the favourite of my features. The Barometer can be extremely accurate, along with the compass. Sometimes the Altimeter can be off measurement, but you can adjust that. It just has features that blow every other watch I have in my collection away. I always use the stopwatch and countdown timers on any digital that I have and this one adds ABC features on top of those as well; world time, atomic time keeping, and solar power, and 100 meter water resistance are all just pluses in an already feature laden time piece. Not to mention the sunrise and sunset time's feature, which is really useful for maximizing the use of one day.
One nice surprise is that when using the watch at night, a simple tilt of the wrist toward your face will cause the back light to temporarily come on. I.e., you don't have to push the button. I never saw this function in the ads or in the manual.
Finally, it is well built and although reasonably large by watch standards, it is comfortable for a man. I'm not sure most women would want to wear it though. You can't go wrong with this watch. Just make sure it is this model because some of the others close to the same price do not have all of these functions.

Casio PRW-2000T-7ER ProTrek watch
I bought the Casio PRW-2000T-7ER ProTrek to my 29 years old Casio Model No 106 stainless steel watch. This ProTrek model has almost all the functions that I need in a watch. The titanium bracelet makes the watch look much better in the metal than on paper. It has a golden-steel look and shouts class. Titanium is also kinder to your skin. The watch face is big, but the depth is slim. The bracelet is big enough to fit the biggest Sumo wrestler. Timpson removed four links and the watch now fits unobtrusively around my medium-size wrist. The watch has a duplex LCD display, which gives it very high contrast and aids quick reading of, say, the barometer screen, which is very busy. The screen has two turquoise dividers that separate the display into three sections. This layout allows the eyes to concentrate on the important sections. The numbers in the middle section are big, clear, and very easy to read, those in the outer sections are smaller but clear. My watch came with “BER” as the home city. I soon changed this to “LON”, and adjusted the latitude/longitude settings to 51N 0E. This setting affects the Sunrise/Sunset display. The watch is very accurate; the atomic time calibration has occurred (so far) between 2:02 AM and 6:02AM every day but the watch seems to be very accurate on its own. This watch will automatically adjust the time and date from six frequencies around the globe, all you do is to be in the vicinity and select the correct city. You can do a manual receive at any time of the day. It has a 24-hour countdown timer and a 24-hour stopwatch, very handy for doing extended timings. Used properly and interpreted correctly, the triple-sensor works well. The compass is quite accurate on the wrist, but body temperature and local air pressure and moisture content will affect the thermometer, barometer and altimeter readings. The battery is solar powered. It read “M” on receiving, and charged to “H” after four hours of indoor sunlight. I love the presentation box – a work of art and so simple to open once you study it closely. This watch has many useful functions. However, the manual (also available in .pdf form from Casio-Europe) is very easy to read and will show you how to get the best from this watch.
My grumbles are that the watch is “only” 100m water-resistant – I would prefer 200m. Also, I would have preferred to be able to adjust the bracelet myself without tools, without having to visit or pay a specialist, as my wrist size could increase temporarily (on holiday or business in a hot, humid, country), or the watch can be handed on. I have read that titanium is softer than stainless steel so I will wait and watch. For the price, I am expecting 400 years reliable service!
I choose Watch Shop because they are official Casio stockists, and one of a few online shops for which I could find no complaints. I was very impressed with the speed and simplicity of the ordering process. I completed the order on a Friday, 12 August, at 13:16PM, and it arrived, post free and undamaged, by Royal Mail next day, Saturday, 13 August, at 09:16. Watch Shop d me promptly at each step by an e-mail and Royal Mail’s tracking was accurate.
