The watch Im reviewing is a Casio ProTrek PRW-3500-1ER which I bought while on sale.
It came very quickly, still brand new and ready to go straight out of the box. The Casio box was also nice.
This watch has a tremendous amount of features. These include
A digital compass, stainless steel bezel, barometer, altimeter, thermometer, sun rise sun set, atomic radio controlled time and date keeping, solar powered quartz battery and the standard timer stopwatch alarms etc.

•The digital compass works very well, and will point to magnetic north, but its worth noting that as its digital it will read incorrectly when next to a mobile phone for example due to the interference 10cm radius. The bezel is also very nice and is easy to move without it feeling loose.
•The barometer works incredibly well, it was spot on to my weather app air pressure online and my mechanical barrometer. The graph that shows air pressure rising or falling is also a very handy indication of rain or clear skies as it will plot the changing air pressure on the graph over time continuously.
• The thermometer is good, as long as you let it read ambient temperature while not wearing it, otherwise it will show the radiant heat coming from your wrist on the display.
•The altimeter operates from the barometric air pressure so it will likely be incorrect when you read it, but its easy to get around this, by simply manually setting it at the starting point of trails etc or at home and it will rise and fall correctly afterward. This watch can also save numerous altitude data recordings with a time and date, to look back on at a later date or compare against other recordings etc.
Though I will be honest the altimeter is the only feature thats not guaranteed to cooperate, but none the less its still good when its set up right.
•The sun rise/set feature is a really nice touch if you rely on such information for planning photography trips like myself or simply plan anything outdoor related really. Plus it works alongside the radio controlled time and date which means you can look to see when the sun will rise and set every other day in the future or what it was in the past.
•This watch only requires you to set the time and date once, then as long as it gets a clear link to the radio signal once in a while it automatically sets itself to the correct time and date if they are out of synchronisation.
•It runs on a solar powered quartz battery which only requires a half day in direct sunlight to show H on the display which means full. Regular use in daylight will keep it running as its designed to operate for days without light after even just minimal charge time.
•Casios official page state this watch will work between -10c and +60c and they also state it is water resistant to 20BAR which is 200 meter.
And after seeing a Casio Gshock be plunged over 200 meters in the sea and still work without a hick up, I can trust in Casios technical information that this watch is just the same.
•The strap is made of resin with a stainless steel buckle, and the backside of the watch body has comfort pads so it doesnt dig into your wrist after prolonged use. The strap has also got a slightly thicker end so that it cant accidentally come loose, though it can be tricky to get this section through the hoop when removing due to its design.

My only negative I can say about this watch, a personal negative, is simply that my wrists are slightly small and this means the resin strap is either ever so slightly too tight, or ever so slightly too loose, with just one notch up or down.
Its not a big issue but it makes the difference between wearing the watch without noticing it or noticing it.
Still the strap is that which can be removed and replaced with a more favourable one in such circumstances, to which I thank Casio for being ever so thoughtful to variations in peoples shape and size of wrists and putting the design in.

Overall I love this watch and recommed it to any person even if you arent an outdoors type.

After reviewing clips on YouTube and reading reviews online, I found what I was looking for at The Watchshop online. The price of the watch was less than offered by other retailers. After another couple of thinking days, I finally placed the order, to have it delivered to my hotel. It arrived when The Watchshop said it would be delivered. Opening the undamaged package I found what is going to be on my wrist for the next decade at least. This watch definitely looks better on my wrist than in photographs. Going through the manual and following instructions to set home city, the watch then automatically set the time and date from a radio signal. With compass, Barometer and Altitude this watch is the best for outdoor and water activities, as it is waterproof to 20 Bar 200 mtrs. I would definitely go swimming with it, but as I dont go scuba diving, this watch wont be tested swimming too deep. This Protrek has the normal alarms x4, timer, stopwatch, world times, sunrise/sunset times, hourly chime and can also record altitudes as you go hiking out in the back country. The thick manual is very comprehensive and as you get to know the watch the manual is very quickly set aside as the menu system is intuitive. The bezel also rotates so that you can set a bearing to stay ontrack. With good looks, non-scratch sapphire glas and built for the rugged lifestyle, you cannot go past this Casio PRW-3500-1R watch from The Watch Shop.

Great everyday watch, its about the tenth one ive tried in the last year and by far the easiest to live with everyday, some of the bigger more expensive casios are very uncomfortable to wear all day and some fancy dive watches lack the functionality and tools, so back where i started 10 watches ago with a good old reliable pro trek

Wanted to buy a new Casio Pro trek watch, and was brought to the Watchshop website. I work outdoors and needed a watch that was durable , and of course being a fella a watch with gadgets. I found the website fantastic, and very easy to browse. The watch I selected was a Casio Pro Trek 3500-1ER. I am living in Ireland and within a couple of days I received it. I even got it before Xmas, so I was delighted. Very happy with WatchShop, and very happy with the watch. I would highly recommend buying your watch from WatchShop, and also this watch. I would recommend this watch for persons who want a durable , well made, and also a watch which has loads of extras. Having a solar power watch means I never have to get a battery replaced. The watch is easy to wear and comfortable.
