Mens Casio G-Shock Wave Ceptor Riseman Alarm Chronograph Watch GW-9200-1ER - my first purchase in WATCHSHOP™. When ordering made a small mistake but the sellers store supported me and helped me for what they are separate special thanks for this.
We proceed directly to the watch. The legendary series of G-Shock Casio company. About this series is legendary. The basis of a series of leaks is put at 20 atmospheres. Protection against impact, dirt, frost. Glass recessed into the body and it is to reduce the likelihood of mineral to scratch it. Tough solar, barometer, thermometer, altimeter, multiple alarms, a stopwatch - all the advantages of a long list of those hours. Very convenient to lay on hands, lungs, are not felt on his hand in practice. I recommend this watch for people leading active lifestyles. You will always have on hand a modern multi-function gadget that will not let you in difficult times or difficult conditions.
Thank WATCHSHOP™ for very nice service. Thank you for your attitude to customers.

This is my first G-Shock - wish that I had not waited so long. All the features are as described and work without any problems. Despite all the tips on positioning the watch to ensure that you can get the auto , I have not experienced any problems even when I have left it in my bag surrounded by metal items _ might help that I live only 30 miles from the UK transmitter!! Although it looks chunky, it does not appear so on the wrist and it looks good. It is light and doesn't snag on shirt/coat cuffs so I don't notice that I am wearing it.

VERIFIED WATCHSHOP BUYER    (PURCHASED: TUE 24TH JAN 2012)

After receiving the watch I waited with a review to make proper tests. So I did, I went trekking in Karkonosze mountains in Poland. However, I would like to start from something more basic, namely, the looks. The watch is made as an G-shock should be. When you are wearing it you are sure that have solid and good looking piece of equipment on your wrist. It is a nice feeling. That’s enough for me when it comes for looks.
The watch is equipped with barometer, thermometer, and altimeter. Let’s start from the barometer. I will describe it shortly: great! I adjusted the watch one day before my trip to the mountains. I used the readings of professional weather station. During the trekking I used the portable barometer and compared it’s reading to readings of the watch. Average difference between them was about 0.3 hPa. For me it was more than enough. It also the graph that is shown in the small red circle was precise. Nice feature.
Second sensor is the thermometer. Unfortunately, it is no so comfortable to use because you have to take off the watch to make precise readings. It is logical because the watch receives some heat from the body and the reading is always higher than it should be. The Riseman is useful to see the temperature of fluids. I put it in mountain river for 8 minutes and it showed me the same temperature as a normal thermometer.
And the last feature is the altimeter. It is the less precise sensor of the GW-9200 because it depends on barometric pressure and we know that it is changing all the time so you have to adjust it before every trip otherwise it will be useless. I was lucky because it was sunny during my trip and there were no dramatic changes of the weather so my readings were quite precise. When I have reached the summit (1602 m) the Riseman indicated 1620m. Close enough. However, I would not depend on this feature. It needs un changeable weather and stable temperature to be precise so it is not the strong point of the watch.
GW-9200 has also two other useful functions. It is solar powered and it adjusts itself to one of the 6 atomic clocks around the world. The functions work hear, in England, without any problems so I am not going to describe them. The Riseman has also features that are in every G-shock: light, alarms, world time and many other.
To sum up, if you like a watch that is solid, looks great, and is packed with some useful functions so the Riseman is perfect for you. It is for me. I hope that this was helpful.

Regards,
Tom

It is not too big and fits perfectly on my slim wrists. It has a barometer which is good and accurate and also like the temporature too which is pretty acccurate too. With the atomic time keeping you cant go wrong with this watch. I wear it to the gym and work too. I would recommend this watch to anyone.

I bought the Casio Riseman G Shock watch, my first G Shock. I've always been a fan of ABC-T watches (altimeter, barometer, compass and thermometer). This watch has all but the compass. It's fantastic and not as chunky looking as you think. The readings are fairly accurate, which is what to expect from these devices. It's waterproof to 200m which is plenty for an average joe like myself and with it being a G Shock, it'll take all kinds of everyday punishment, plus more! A recommended buy!

I was a bit worried that this watch would be a bit big and look a bit stupid on my skinny little wrists, luckily it is only slightly bigger than a standard G-Shock and looks pretty good. The design and build quality are excellent, although I was a bit disappointed with the accuracy of the altimetre; I wasn't expecting it to be perfect, but in my house the reading ranges from -5 to 140 metres. This turns out to be a standard problem for altimetre watches, there is lots more information on this issue if you Google "riseman altitude accuracy".

Casio has done an excellent job in designing this watch. The light button is made of steel as is the sensor on the left side of the watch. There has been speculation as to whether the sensor would protrude out enough to make the watch uncomfortable to wear on the right arm. Although I wear my watches on the left, I tested this theory and found that the sensor did not diminsih comfort when worn on the right. The strap on the watch is similar in design and comfort of the Mudman G9000, which is a very comfortable strap. A big improvement on the strap's design is that Casio solved the problem of the strap slipping out of the strap keeper. This was acheived by producing a raised area located on the tip of the strap. In addition to being raised, the area is grooved and creates a firm grip.
There is a red button located on the right side of the watch that is used to enter the Altimeter Mode. For those not entralled with red buttons, the button is actually recessed which greatly reduces its noticeability.
The watch adjusts its time setting automatically by receiving calibration signals transmitted from 6 locations around the globe: Germany, England, the United States, Japan (2 locations) and China. The Riseman GW9200 is the first in the G-Shock line offering the capability of receiving a signal from China, thus the designation of Multi-Band 6. The watch will attempt to receive a calibration signal up to 5 times per day, however once a signal is successfully received it will not attempt to receive any additional signal for that day. The watch offers the option to manually receive a calibration signal at will by the touch of a button.
The Altimeter function measures altitude via two options: through the watch's sensor that measures barometric pressure, or via a reference point that you enter that subsequent measures are based on. The manual describes the reference point option as, "When mountain climbing, you can specify a reference marker along the way or altitude information from a map." "After that, altitude readings produced by the watch will be more accurate than they would without a reference altitude." Other feautes in the Altimeter Mode are an altitude graph that shows measurement results, an altitude stopwatch that lets you track and store altitude ascent/descent for a specified time. I have not had the opportunity to significantly test this feature, however based upon Casio's success of this technology in other proven watches, I am confident of the accuracy of this feature.
The watch measures air pressure/ barometric pressure and temperature. In watches using module 3147, temperature can be measured in either celsius or fahrenheit. Module 3145 measures in celsius only. I have found one of the most useful features of the watch is the barometric graph that is displayed in the red circle ("red eye"). This graph is displayed not only in the Barometer Mode, but is also constantly displayed while in the Timekeeping Mode. One can also switch from the barometric graph to a barometric pressure indicator signal that shows an arrow pointing in different directions depending on the rise and fall of barometric pressure. I have watched this graph closely since purchasing the watch and have found it astonishingly accurate. For instance, when explaining the features of this watch to my wife she asked about the barometric graph. At that time the graph was angling downward from left to right, signaling that there was a deteriorating weather trend. She asked if the forecast for our area called for rain and I reluctantly told her it had not. However, I woke in the middle of the night to the sound of rain. Very impressive. I have always had an affinity for weather and as a result I am quite fond of this feature.
The Riseman offers World Time displayed in 33 cities (29 time zones) around the globe with an auto daylight savings time feature. Other features include: 4 alarms, a snooze alarm, an hourly time signal, Auto EL, power saving mode, stopwatch and a 24-hour contdown timer.
This watch is packed with features, therefore this review only touches the surface of the watch's full capability. My opinion is that the Riseman GW9200 is constructed very well, is extremely comfortable to wear and offers a magnificent number of features. It is not merely a matter of whether you want this watch, you need this watch!

During looking for reviews and watches online, I haven't come across a complete review which could tell me both about the product features and also how it fits into the life. Therefore I am including as much information as possible to help my fellow CASIO GSHOCK RISEMAN enthusiasts to help them make the right decision.

A couple of weeks back on a Saturday afternoon I was sitting at the dentist for a regular checkup browsing a couple of magazines when I came across the new CASIO GHOCK series. I was amazed by the features and functionality of the new series. The same day I browsed many watch comparison sites, and online marketplaces such as Amazon, ebay, et al but I turned down most of the watches as they had most of the features but 99% were too big to be worn on a regular use.

Finally I came across CASIO GSHOCK RISEMAN on a search engine and ended up reading about their features and it seemed to tick all my boxes:
- Solar Powered
- Should go over 6 months with a single full charge (considering the amount of sunlight we get in London, UK) and this one goes to around 9 months between charges.
- Charge level indicator (yes, and it has three levels that clearly tell you if it is (L)Low, (M)Medium or (H)High)
- Tough Watch, can take on a lot of bumps
- Altimeter + Barometer
- Multiple time zones option (as I travel across the globe due to work) with a single button
- Temperature sensor
- Additional Sensor for helping all the sensors work more accurately
- Stopwatch
- Light (on the G button)
- Power Saving function which works great and the watch goes to sleep to save power when I am not wearing it and just comes to life the moment I take it out from the drawer.
- And most of all, all these wonderful features rolled up into a neat and wonderful design that looks just perfect on my wrist (this is why I turned down most of the other watches as they were too big to be worn on a regular basis).

Due to its beautiful design and classy feel, This watch goes great with my Jacket and Ties and complement my Jeans and a smart shirt equally well. I go to dinner parties as well as go out to play football in the rain with the lads wearing this one.

I love watches and want them to be as sturdy as life itself and be there when I need it. This watch is just that. I sometimes even sleep with this on but haven't even had a stiff wrist. In fact this watch is even on my wrist right now while writing this review.

When I ordered this watch from Watchshop, it arrived as agreed on the website on the final confirmation page and came in a nice round tin branded in Casio's Golden tin for GSHOCK and shouts quality in the packaging as well.

PS. I am much more than happy with my purchase and looking forward to go cave diving later this year to test myself and my RISEMAN in the cold and deep waters.
So you have a thumbs up on this from my side.

I am also including an image to show how good it looks on my wrist. It seems as if the strap has been tailor-made for my wrist.

The watch is comfortable to wear, has a clear screen, lights up in low light automatically, give me the time here and the countries I am visiting, I love the temperature, barrometer, plus the alarm settings all make it a fabulous time piece - that and the fact that it is solar powered.

Riseman 9200 (the module 3147) is on sale in special can packing. The instruction by o'clock goes only in one language - English.

Certainly, designers Casio have done huge work that watch have turned out with such interesting appearance. The illumination button consists of pure metal, as also the special gauge on the left side of hours. Convex lateral elements of the gauge in any way do not disturb to comfortable use of professional hours.

The thong, as a rule, has property to sweat, as does its slippery. Owing to sliding, the thong rest jumped out from the control holder, but developers have found the decision of this problem - they have made a tip more thickly, and a top have made corrugated. Thus the thong will be strong fixed in the position and will not escape anywhere.

On the right side of hours there is a red button which is used for mode activation altimetr. The gear surface on the button promotes convenient pressing that is very important, after all hours are intended for use in extreme conditions. Even despite bright red colour, the button it is difficult to notice at you on a hand.

Both modules show excellent characteristics. Current time is displayed always, despite a mode which you use at present (except высотомера). In a mode of usual display of current time it is necessary to notice a scale in “a red eye”. On a scale the behaviour of the barometric gauge is displayed, and you can already expect the future weather. Day of week, date, year, the indicator of a charge of the battery, the indicator of force of reception of a nuclear signal - all it is displayed in a usual mode. It is possible to draw a conclusion that the most important indicators will be always at you before eyes.

Hours receive signals of nuclear time in 6 places of our planet: Germany, England, the USA, Japan (2 stations) and China. Riseman GW9200 is first model of ruler G-Shock which can accept signals in China. Hours will be synchronised to 6 times a day but if the first synchronisation has passed successfully, it will be enough on all the day. You also have a possibility of manual adjustment of a radio signal by means of the special button.

Altimetr measures height by means of two options: the barometric gauge (atmospheric pressure) or through a special basic reference point which will be based from the set mark. As a matter of fact, the technology altimetr Casio, at present, is considered most exact of all possible (such plan).

Hours show the information on atmospheric/barometric pressure and temperatures. A barometric scale in “a red eye” - one of the most important and useful functions. This schedule is displayed not only in a barometric mode, but also in the usual. Also it is possible to be switched from function of the barometric schedule in function of barometric pressure to look at change of pressure depending on height. The information on temperature can sometimes not coincide with the validity. Is as well function of world time (33 cities and 29 hour zones). It is not necessary to forget and about technology of day savings of a food. Other important characteristics: 4 alarm clocks, 1 with function to "doze", ежечасовое the alarm notification, automatic electroluminescent illumination, function of savings of a food, a stop watch and the timer of return readout of time.

These are especial hours with tremendous characteristics. Design Riseman GW9200 - is presented perfectly well, and you take pleasure in use of these professional hours

And here on this site I found what she was looking! Today, donated these wonderful watches. How many of delight: the husband wanted to just such, he travels a lot and watches will be his guiding star. In watches everything you need: altmetr, watch shows temp., they do not need batteries (charge comes from the sun) is what is needed for every traveler. The husband was very happy and I gave a lot of fun to see how he was happy and that I divined his wishes. Dreams Come True! Thank you.

The main reason I bought the watch was for the altimeter.

However its resolution is to within 5m (+-2.5 m ?) which is very poor. And even if you calibrate it with a known height, which improves the absolute accuracy, it will still only give you a poor reading within 5 m at best.

I intended to use it for caving so its of very limited use, since you need more accuracy. Even on the hills you would be better using a GPS for altitude than the watch, since it depends on pressure changes.

The solar power feature appears to be its best feature, overall, it has all the other "watch" features as expected.

I should have bought another model since this fails to perform as I would want it too, very dissapointing.

Pros:

This is the coolest watch on the planet ever!

Apart from all of the main features like Altimeter, Berometer, etc... it also has an auto backlight feature which illuminates the watch when you angle it towards your face whenever it is dark enough!

It is very comfortable to wear and doesn't look as bulky and awkward as you might think.

Really easy to use; it takes about a day to familiarise yourself with all of the controls/functions.

The battery lasts a very long time on a decent charge in the sunlight.

There are also many alarms and timers, for example, I have different alarms for different start times each day of the week for university (there are 5 alarms, i.e mon-fri), I use the stopwatch for running/training, and I have the countdown timer set to 3 minutes for boiling eggs! lol, it really is that simple to use and very functional/useful.

Cons:

The sensor on the left side of the watch seems a little delicate, as if it might damage, dent, or even break if you knocked it hard enough which kind of defeats the point of a G-Shock (I could be well wrong about this but I am unwilling to find out). I'm sure it is just as tough as the rest of the watch, but I do worry about damaging it.

The watch doesn't have a compass but you won't miss it. If you are a serious walker/rambler you should probably have your own compass anyway. However if you really want a compass on the watch you should probably go for one of the pro-trek models which are also really just as good, but slightly dearer. However I really like the unique look of the Riseman, and it wasn't worth sacrificing that just for a compass.

Also since the Altimeter is based on the readings from the Berometer, if the weather declines the berometer will read correctly (showing a downward slope on the graph in the little red circle, top-left of the face), but the altimeter will say that you have just decended 40 meters or so. A little dissappointing but how else can you expect the Altimeter to function? It is still very accurite, and great fun when you're up Helvellyn or some other mountain/hill, it even works indoors!

Summary:

If this is the top end of your budget, get one now! You won't regret it :D

The watch was suprisingly pretty once I got it, better then the picture presented it as. Much because of that the watch actually is in black - not blue as the picture presents.

It's pumped up with features, you have to tinkle for a while with them to get them working, except the watches thermometer who seems to think it's +30.1C wherever it is.

The watch manual recomends you to wear as far down on your hand as possible (so that the solar panels get sun), but if your a leftie the "sensor" will make this dificult as it keeps crashing with your hand.

Else is this watch is a SOLID watch, this is coming from a soliders who uses this watch in the field every day.

The altimeter is not very reliable, it uses air preasure to measure the hight, and aipreasure changes from place to place and time to time. my home goes from 110 M to 200 M over the ocean, if you use this for hiking you need signs telling you your actually hight over the ocean, calibrate the watch according to those and you'll have a OK altimeter.

the Waveband radio have I had no problems with, but a few of my friends owning similare watches need to put them in the window during the night for the watch to set (bad reception, often happens if you life with large buildings around you), but you can tell it to calibrate whilst you are outside walking.

The watch actually tells you how much battery it's got left, which is sort of neat.

Else timer, stop watch, alarm, recording unit (recording temp, hight, barometer preasure etc) works as it should, needs real sun to charge the battery properly.

I'd highly recomend this watch for people who needs a watch they can rely on during harsh/extreme conditions, except the altimeter and thermometer readings.

The watch arrives in a chunky tin can

It doesn't look as big as the case size (50mm) suggests

This electronic watch brings back the 80s with the fiddly interface and interface abbreviations — fun!

With solar power and radio-controlled synchronization this is a great traveller's watch. Also looks (and is) cheap enough to be taken to rough and inhospitable terrains and countries.

Enjoying my dose of 80s, thanks casio!!!

This watch is great exactly what you would expect from this type of Casio. It even has a soft power applied to the inside of this band so it does not stick to your wrist. The Order was great. It arrived 3 days after the order and in the morning so i did not have to collect it from the post. The only negative side is that you need to configure the altimeter every time you use it or else the readings will generally be wrong. Nevertheless i recommend the watch to everyone.

I considered purchasing this watch for sometime after reading numerous positive reviews. I am glad I eventually did. The watch has exceeded my expectations. It is an excellent, sturdy, well designed watch that also looks great. I find the watch to be very light and comfortable to wear, also it does not look oversized on the wrist. My favourite features are the radio controlled atomic timekeeping and the fact it is solar powered. The power save feature at night is also a clever idea and I doubt the watch will ever be low on power.

Overall I would recommend you buy the Riseman if you appreciate a fully featured near indestructible watch which looks good.

Let's start with what you will receive when you order either model. The Riseman 9200, module 3147, comes in a tin and a manual printed in English.

Both modules are outstanding. Current time is displayed in all modes, except the Altimeter Mode. When viewing the watch in the Timekeeping Mode you will notice a graph located in the red eye. The graph displays a barometric trend that helps one determine if the weather is deteriorating or improving. Also displayed in the Timekeeping Mode is the day, date, year, battery strength indicator and signal strenth indicator for the Atomic feature of the watch. So basically in the Timekeeping Mode, you are in full command.

The manual describes the reference point option as, When mountain climbing, you can specify a reference marker along the way or altitude information from a map. After that, altitude readings produced by the watch will be more accurate than they would without a reference altitude. Other feautes in the Altimeter Mode are an altitude graph that shows measurement results, an altitude stopwatch that lets you track and store altitude ascent/descent for a specified time. I have not had the opportunity to significantly test this feature, however based upon Casio's success of this technology in other proven watches, I am confident of the accuracy of this feature.

The watch measures air pressure/ barometric pressure and temperature. Temperature can be measured in either celsius or fahrenheit. I have found one of the most useful features of the watch is the barometric graph that is displayed in the red circle (red eye). As in the Altimeter Mode, one can view prior measurements that are stored in the watch. Range measurements for the thermometer are -10 degrees celsius to 60 degrees celsius and 14 degrees fahrenheit to 140 degrees fahrenheit. To obtain an accurate temperature reading you will need to remove the watch from your wrist and place in a well ventilated area. An accurate reading will result in about 30 minutes.
