FUNCTIONAL REVIEW
I love what Casio did with the automatic time (which I think it’s AMAING) because I live in London and I dont have to worry about the time going forward or backward an hour. The different time location for 29 different cities that it covers is amazing. Now when I travel across time zones, I dont have to be battling with adjusting my wristwatch at the airport. I just have to indicate the city and "bam"....that settles it.....Hold on, it doesnt stop there, I found out that I can also switch between the time zones displayed on the main analogue display and the mini-analogue display which makes it so sleek. For example if I travel from London to New York, I can smoothly make my main analogue display (which was indicating the time in London) show the time in New York (which is used to be displayed on my mini analogue display) and vice-versa.
One of my favourite features of this watch is that i can have three different time zones displayed concurrently on my watch: the main analogue display, the digital display and the mini analogue display on the 3 Oclock position. I think this is really convenient for people that travel especially for someone like me.
I also don’t have to be worried about when my battery will go off as there is an indicator that lets you know if your charge is high (H), medium (M) or low (L).It doesnt stop there, it also shows you if your charging(C) as well as the power save (PS).its got other options on it but yet to figure out the exact functions.
The ease of changing between time modes like the world time is so easy and intuitive and i like the fact that I can change my main display to show the time zones or city I’m in.

AESTHETIC REVIEW
The push buttons are properly placed and they are made of steel compared to previous plastic. It kind of adds an original feel to it. It’s really manly, eye catching and comfortable to wear even though it has some thickness to it. I like the way bezel protects the crystal screen so even though you mistakenly hit it on a hard surface, you are almost guaranteed that your crystal display wont get cracked or shattered....but hey it’s a G-SHOCK.
What I expected to get as which obviously isnt there is the illumination of the hour and minutes hand. Though it gets charged when you are in the bright environment but once you entre a dark environment, it illuminates for a while and it dims off after a while. I would really love it if i can illuminate my watch whenever i want like a digital wristwatch. It’s useful when driving at night. Though the lighting and the watch clarity is superb, it’s like its in HD mode...just so real, legible and easy to read!

Overall,you certainly cant go wrong with this watch.Its the best G-SHOCK watch i own till date.

Nice watch.
The instruction manual was a little complicated, but once I got around that, the watch functions are useful.
I like the design, it looks good and its very robust.
Still getting used to it, but I like it a lot.

Originally I watched serval reviews on youtube regarding this particular watch, to which helped me make the decision to purchase this watch. Overall Im completely impressed with the overal appearance, feel and weight of the watch especially on my wrist. The design work effortless with good mixture of colours on the display I was particularly attracted and impressed with the yellow on black display which make reading the watch very easy. There is a good integration of metal and polycarbonate. The only upset or disappointment with the watch it self is the back light display which has a poor illumination of the watch face, what would have been better would be the LED display should have had a backlit display. Setting this aside the watch is perfect for everyday use and is ideal watch for traveling, as it has world time including radio time accuracy and the bonus being solar powered no issued with battery replacement.

Marks out of 5 I would have giving this watch a 5 star rating unfortunately the backlight display let it down a little therefore Id rate it a 4 and a half out of 5.

Excellent watch, just what I needed as it can take a bit of stick. The yellow features make it stand out. So its a bit over the top function-wise...its a guy thing.
The manual is not so good, its minute...tiny...miniscule with even tinier writing so you will need eyes like jam-jar bottoms to be able to read it...and I have good eyesight. I found an on-line manual that's easier to read so I'm happy now.
The light only shines on the bottom bit of the display and it is adequate for the time only, not practical for the digital display viewing, but I don't mind that bit.
Once you learn how to use the functions its a piece of cake.

Review for Casio GW3500B
Anybody paying over £50 for a watch wants more than just something to tell the time. If you’re prepared to pay over £150 pounds, what extras you are after? Some want something wafer thin with an understated elegance, others want a fashion statement or a declaration of their wealth, others want their watch to double as an mp3 player or other high tec gadget. If you’re in any of those groups the GW3500 isn’t for you. If, however, you want something rugged, easy to read, that will never need adjusting, never need the batteries replacing and can do a variety of time-based functions, look no further.
Other buyers have criticised the instructions included with this watch, and rightly so, but don’t let that put you off - it’s really all pretty straightforward, despite the book’s attempts to make it complicated.
First, a warning. If the postman delivers your watch in the morning, before you’ve left for work, don’t try to sort it out straight away, you’ll miss your bus. Leave it until you get home in the evening; if you are relaxed it’s quite easy.
The bit that confused me at first was the lack of a simple key explaining the different areas of the display - I hope what follows will prevent anyone else being similarly confused.
Traditional ‘hands’ - only for hours and minutes. The seconds are part of the digital display (see later note). Although their luminosity fades, I found no problem reading the time in the dark, even after 7 hours of darkness.
There are 5 little display areas. Those at 6 o’clock and 9 o’clock need a bit of explaining.
The 6 o’clock display gives the date (US style - month, then day) followed by the digital equivalent of the second hand. So, for example, a display of 2-22-15 means it’s the 22nd of Feb and, if the watch had a second hand it would be in the ‘quarter past’ position. It is this display area that doubles as a stop watch, countdown timer, time in almost any other country or to display the alarm time.
The 9 o’clock display normally tells you the state of the battery (C = needs charging urgently, L = low, M = medium, H = high). When you press the ‘mode’ button, this dial will change to show what function you are using (ST = stop watch, TR = timer, AL = alarm, T1/T2/WT = time in various time zones, PS = power save, W/R = for when the watch receives the time signal)
The other 3 display areas are simpler - the time in your chosen other time zone, which alarm you have set and the day of the week.
The manual explains quite clearly how to set your ‘home city’. The watch will then automatically pick up the time signal but it’s worth doing the full manual receive (also explained OK in the manual). I found that the automatic pickup was about 30 seconds out and I was really worried that there was something wrong with the watch, but performing the full manual procedure sorted it out beautifully. I was also concerned about the battery losing charge (the manual warns about not letting your sleeve cover the watch - and I’m not prepared to go sleeveless in February) but I needn’t have worried. Straight from the box the charge was on M (medium) and it stayed that way for several days despite the watch being mostly under the sleeve of my jumper or jacket. A few hours on a window ledge (even in overcast February) was enough to put the charge up to H (high).
OK, for anybody still reading, here is my final summary. This is a great watch and excellent value for money. It isn’t small, but even on my thin wrist, it fits well. I’m not crazy about the resin strap, but in all other respects it’s brilliant. I have used it as a stop watch and countdown timer - easy peasy. I have also used the alarm which, although not terribly loud, wakes me up. I have only used the world time zones to prove that I could - that was also straightforward. For me this is a great ‘wear it every day’ watch which does everything I would ever want from a watch, and does it well.

This product is fantastic! I'm so happy with my purchase! It was a surprise valentines present for my husband, so I was impressed when it came two days later! It looks exactly like it does in the picture, it's lightweight, great looking, very well made and fits very comfortably. I was surprised that the manual was so thick, but I was able to follow it and set it up myself and I understood all the instructions very clearly. Fantastic product, well worth the money and I can't fault it in any way! Very happy, and will be recommending it to our friends who are also looking for the same watch.

Excellent product i have another g-shock watch but this one is even better, built to last, feels big and chunky on your wrist which i like but very lightweight.

Only criticism would be the backlight could be better but still all in all great watch!!

Brilliant watch easy to set up and use was a bit put of by other reviews saying it was hard to set up and then seeing a 2 inch thick manual but its easy.
Very comfortable to wear allthough heavy duty its light on the wrist.
Great in the dark too amazing how clear it is to read even without the light.

First seeing this watch advertised on facebook i thought i would take a look and see what its like, ive had a toy watch for 2 years and i just thought i needed a change so i decided to buy this wactch. I like the style and its very comfortable. One bad thing about it is that it was a bit complicated at first but after reading the instructionss i was fine and after a little play round i got the hang of it.

This watch is exactly as I expected it to be when I ordered it. It has a sense of toughness, which is backed up by the build quality - it feels tough and well built. It's very chunky and large on the wrist. It's not a dress watch!
The analogue luminous hands and figures on the dial work well, particularly after being exposed to bright light. The digital readings are less impressive, and the date display follows the US system of M DD follow by a 60 second countdown. Not too easy to read in bright sunlight either. The instruction manual is lengthy and a bit complicated. It's probably best to keep it for reference and only use it if you want to access some of the timepieces' many functions. Once the watch is set up, which takes about 10 minutes, it is simple to see the time, and the timekeeping is extremely accurate - which is the main requirement of a wristwatch after all...
The built in illumination for nighttime works well too, even though the dial is only lit up for around a second or so, but I found it adequate to see the time in the pitch black of night. I like the watch very much, it's better than the rivals from Timex etc., and I'm very glad I bought it.

Looks even better in real life than in the pictures where it can look a bit plastic, it is mostly plastic however it has a more rubberized rugged look rather than cheap and tacky. It is very comfortable to wear despite being relatively large (I recommend people with 'man' sized wrists). I can’t comment on its claim of being waterproof to 200m as I’ve never been that deep (surprisingly), what I can say is that I’ve taken it swimming, white water kayaking and worn it in the shower (yes a difficult test for a watch) and its still working. I saw reviews of some people saying that the backlight isn’t great, which it’s not, but the glow in the dark hands and dials are very visible without the backlight and stay so throughout the night. The only thing is you can’t read the date but I’ve never woken up in the night and wanted to know it and I can safely say I don’t think I’m ever going to do, it’s not something I’d lose sleep over (pun intended). It’s very easy to set up, took about 3 minutes, only thing is I can’t work out how to set the countdown timer to 30 seconds (rest between sets in the gym) probably me being stupid though. Alarms are easy to set even in 12 hour mode (if you’re the person who wrote the review that said in 12 hour mode it was lucky guess whether the alarm went off pm or am. Hint, there’s a p on the left hand side of the display which conventionally means pm (the afternoon)). As for its toughness all I can say is I’m yet to break it and I’ve broken g-shocks before. It’s been kayaking at Hurley and on the upper dart, taken a big hit downhill biking and not a scratch. Overall an outstand tough, easy to read, good looking, rugged watch. BUY

My first G-Shock watch! Needed a robust,reliable and smart looking watch and the Casio is it. Not heavy or cumbersome on the wrist when working and the yellow on black makes it easy to read. Not the cheapest in the range but has all you need. I found setting up easy (looking at the manual, thought I'd need a degree!!) This model is also smart enough to wear as a casual watch. Very happy with my purchase. Must also thank Watch Shop for a very prompt, trouble free service.

Bought this through Watchshop after seeing it in the shops for over £50 more than the website price!

Cannot believe how good this watch is. I had a GW3000 before (The Orange Aviator from 2010) and was expecting this watch to deliver and boy does it. Looks even better in real life than it does in the picture. Wears very well, and looks surprisingly classy even though it's mainly plastic.
The ability to display three world times from the main display at once is a real bonus. The LCD is surprisingly clear too for a negative display. After already owning a G-Shock before, I must say I am hooked. Solar powered and atomic accuracy - what more do you need from a watch!?

Watchshop delivered within 1 working day for FREE! Cannot fault the purchase. Brilliant.

Love the look and the style. Very easy to set up although I have not yet successfully set the time by receiving a time signal. That could be because the day I received the watch, I travelled to the US and I haven't yet retuned to the UK. That said, it is supposed to receive the time signal from Colarado. I'll obviously check when I return. Otherwise, no complaints, very happy with the watch and the service.

Fantastic G-Shock - really delighted with this one.
Over the years I've bought a number of G-Shocks - not because they wear out or break (they're pretty indestructible) - but because they're smart, comfortable and practical, and I like collecting them.
I'm particularly fond of my latest purchase - it wears really comfortably and looks great - a number of people at work have commented on it!
The solar power and radio-controlled timekeeping are brilliant features - the watch is correct to the second and shouldn't ever need a battery change. The world time function will be great when I go on holiday, and the stopwatch is useful when in the pool. It fits my needs perfectly.
Overall, I'm really happy with this watch - it's one of my favourite G-Shocks of all time, and I can thoroughly recommend it!

Having had a G-Shock for some 10 years the strap finally failed, so I decided on a new G-Shock and this one has not disappointed.

Basically it sets itself up once you have set your location, and either wait or get the latest signal time update, you are then away.

Setting the alarms was the hardest bit, as I use the watch for work I want set alarms however in 12 Hour mode I had all alarms set 12 Hours out, after setting to 24 Hours everything was easy.

Like the solar charging a lot, so lets see if this one lasts 10 years.

I've owned several casio watches over the years, but never a G-Shock. It took quite some time before I finally made my choice and I can confirm it's superb. Setting the home city and time for the first time proved no problem and, following a cursory look at the instructions, took less than 10 minutes. Solar power and atomic time are great features for anyone with a hectic life like mine, as it means there's never any need to worry if the watch is displaying the correct time, date, or if the batteries need replacing. It also looks great on my wrist, whether dresed casually or for business. All in all, a fantastic purchase and the service from watchshop more than matched the quality of the watch itself.

My partner is virtually impossible to buy gifts for as he is so particular about his likes and dislikes. He has had a g-shock watch for many years and mentioned that he would like a new one for his birthday. The watch is masculine with features that are easy to use...it took just 10 minutes to set the home time etc etc. I was slightly concerned about the solar power side of the watch but with normal use this has not been problematic. If you are looking for a watch that is a bit different then this is it!

Watch Shop Team: The module number is a four digit code located on the case back of the watch. This watch is able to receive the radio signals emitted by the towers in the uk, usa, japan, china and most of mainland europe.
