This is my first ever chronograph watch, so I don't have anything else to compare this product to. But I have to say, I think it's absolutely superb - the radio controlled feature, combined with the world time is very clever; as well as having two independent stop watches that work a treat. The watch is a little weighty, but I think this merely adds to, and emphasises the point that this really is a quality time piece. I was a little worried that it would look stupidly big on my wrist, as I am 15 and so don't have especially chunky wrists - however I am very pleased to say that this is not the case. The back light, although a relatively common feature on many watches now a days, is a feature I particularly like as many chronographs I looked at whilst making my decision lacked this feature. The only down side is that the back light doesn't light up the digital window that displays the date - however I knew that from other reviews when purchasing this watch, so I wasn't at all disappointed. I would also just like to mention how quick and efficient the service from watchshop was - my order arrived adjusted to my specifications very promptly after placing my order; and I received emails and was able to track my order on line, so I knew exactly where and when my order was.
Overall a fantastic watch, well worth the money and another very happy customer. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a quality time piece without breaking the bank.

I was looking for a good watch on-line which should have good features and at the same time should be light weight. I found this watch perfect in all sense, light weight, filled with nice features with and excellent look. Its easier to use and really a perfect watch for young and professional person. I love this watch. :)

i love this watch i think its fantastic. the watch has loads of features the only problem as other people have said is that it is difficult to see the digital display in the light but actually i find it difficult to read in the dark, in the light is perfect. overall it is the best watch i have ever had.

The watch looks and feels fantastic. Easy to use after a little experimentation, the size is chunky without being too large and it is not too ostentatious. Several people have expressed suprise that it was only £150 and have said it has the look of a more expensive time piece.

After much looking for a new watch I came across this Casio! Known mainly for their digital watches I was at first dubious about the quality of a traditional analogue watch. That tentative feeling was soon dismissed by reading the reviews on some of their best know g-shock watches, with some of the build quality and sturdiness coming across into the edifice range.  I was lucky enough to try this watch on before I bought it from watchshop as the local jewler had one in stock (£200). If any of you have concerns about the watch being too big for your wrists don't, it's a good fit on my slim wrist without looking daft! It ain't the lightest mind, though that is due to it being stainless steel 183g. 
Strap feels sturdy and once set at the correct size doesn't slide up and down my wrist as previous metal strap watches have.  Features wise, there are bucket loads, so whilst the watch looks very cool it's still retains trusty Casio features such as stop watch, led light, and a digital beep. There is even a function that if u tilt ur wrist more than 40 degrees the light will come on to show you the time! This can be turned off to save battery. Set up was quite straight forward, though found it best to download the PDF from Casio website as the printed manual was a bit tiny. The auto radio time set feature is also very good and keeps exact time with the speaking clock! 
In summary, a very good looking watch without being to bling, gets some attention, plenty of features to keep u fiddling and proving comfortable to wear all day. Only criticism is that its a shame the date window doesn't illuminate with the rest of the face when using the LED light function. I would been keen for Casio to produce a waveceptor watch that is solar powered without costing half the national debt -no doubt watch shop would have more money from me if they did.

Generally, I like the style, the black dial plate and sivler belt. However, to set is too complex and the compass is necessary, becasue more and more people travel in the world for business, academic and leisure.

To start of, this watch looks way more expensive than what its actually worth.Very clear to read the time and the date is very useful.The minute and hour hands light up in the dark after exposure to light which is very handy at night after you go out into to the street or else.Personally I like the stainless steel straps not leather or rubber so this watch defiantly fit my criteria.The style is kind of sporty and me being 14 really like it.It's water resistant for those unfortunate moments and the time calibration system is an absolute winner.Every night I just press the A button (TOP LEFT) for 4 seconds and wait 2-4 minutes for the watch to adjust its self to the time.I like that the watch face is big and chunky and not tiny and small.In bright light it looks like its made from diamond, I just love this watch.I still don't know its full potential but slowly I'm beginning to get the hang of it.I couldn't forget the clip mechanism, where you have to press to buttons to release the strap,again very handy while moving your hand a lot.Overall I give it top marks for its usability.

The watch its self is very good and stylish.£150 is a more than a fair price of the watch comparing what you get in this amazing device.first of all the watch looks like it costs £300 at least and the stainless steal bracelet just adds that extra umph to the style.what I really like about the item is that it's very easy to operate once you spend 10-20 minutes with the manual. The automatic callabiration system, where the the watch sets its self to the world atomic clock with extreme precision is faboulous. I prefere to do this my self by holding the A button for 4 seconds (top left). The hour and minute time hands glow in the dark after exposure to light which is a handy tool when entering darker places like night clubs. The date is very handy and of course I couldn't forget the safety strap where by you have to push to realease mechanisms to open the clip. Very shiny watch and that's what makes it stand out. To be honest I really couldn't find a bad point to review, this watch just amazes me everyday. Overall I give it a 10/10 for its potential and guarrante.

The Casio edifice wave ceptor watch is solidly made and handsome to look at. The strap is easily altered to size and is again, well made and solid. The main problem I have is seeing into the tiny circular window which displays the date and also acts as the mode indicator. Otherwise I am very pleased

Really pleased with my new watch. I've had it a week now - no complaints at all. I have an automatic watch that served me well except it used to loose a minute every couple of days. I wanted a watch that didn't need constant adjustment and this watch keeps the exact time all the time. Looks great too. The main functions can be accessed easily but would need to refer to the manual for the rarely used ones (e.g. manual calibration). Not because its difficult, but I just don't need to remember.

I've chosen the Mens Casio Edifice Wave Ceptor Chronograph Watch EQW-500DBE-1AVER

because it suited best to my wishes.It's built like a tank and has so many interesting features like chronogaph,stop watch,alarm,date,world time,dial light.etc.And one more and very usefull function of this watch is Waveceptor technology which automatically sets itself by radio signal.I have not to worry when I go to swim or dive ,this watch is waterresistant to 100m. It's made of high quality polished stainless steel case and bracelet and glass is mineral so scratch resistant.I like it's very beautiful and timeless design.

It comes in a very nice package with the metal box.

I am happy with this watch and it gives you a very good value for the money.

I'm also very satisfied with a great customers support of the Watchshop,so I can recommend it to other customers.

If you are thinking of buying this watch, stop right now. You should be straight on the phone to place your order.

From the moment your order arrives you know uve a quality product. Inside the styleish metal case ul find the watch cossited with foam and the strap and watch face individualy protected.the watch is nicely weighted and balanced,quality stainless strap with secure clasp. Im 15stone with

8inch wrist, but needed 2 links removing from strap so this will obviously fit the larger man.the

main body of the watch and buttons are stainless, ,with the face and tachymeter in black.the hands are part illuminous and part polished, with the stop watch hands red and blue tipped. The 5 minute markins around the edge are also polished, when caught in the light the watch appears to sparkle like a cut diamond. I found the watch very easy to set without using the manual, mastered all features in about 20 minutes. The watch has world time, 2 stop watches,date, alarm(10 second),a suburb back light which can b set to automaticly illuminate when checking the time and of course wave ceptor technology, atomic time keeping where the watch carries out daily updates and keeps perfect time. The watch is at home with a shirt and tie, yet not out of place with jeans and T shirt. The only slight down side, in certain light conditions the date can be differcult to read, but how times do you need to check the date in one day! All in all its a very attractive manly,feature packed watch, admired by all. Fantastic

This is the third Casio watch that I have purchased, this being an upgrade on the previous ones and which drew my attention for its elegant styling, advanced features and unbeatable accuracy. Far better than other watches I have purchased at twice or three times the price.

The only drawback was the complexity of the instruction manual which was quickly solved by a telephone call to the Casio Customer Service line who were excellent and efficient on the instructions given.

Had the watch for a couple of weeks and it's more than worth every penny. The watch looks good, nice weight and easy to read. The only gripe I have is the size of the instruction manual - you need a magnifying glass to read it! Must also thank WATCHSHOP UK for a 1st class service (including bracelet adjustment free of charge) from placing the order to receiving the watch. Great looking watch. I was afraid it was going to be too large on my wrist because they aren't so big.

But altough it's a big watch it doesn't really look all that big. So it turned out alright.

I like the complexity of the dial and all the functions work nicely. it didn't take me long to figure out what every thing does. World time is a wonderful gadget.



Overall; a splendid looking watch which I have to say is great value here compared to what I saw at my local watchmaker.

OK. This was an impulse buy. Found this watch to be tidy in appearance, easy to read face and features which is good for me as I suffer from eyesight which changes with the wind (also with hours on the game box, the amount of alcohol consumed and the 3AM mornings watching poo on TV).

STAINLESS STEEL EVERYTHING BUT IT IS SUFFERING FROM MINOR SCRATCHES AFTER ONLY A COUPLE OF DAYS GENERAL WEAR.

Not usually considered to be dim but initially found the watch a little confusing to operate its various features. If one gets used to how to swap from various modes, it becomes common sense and logical, but give yourself a day or two and don't feel you are losing your grip, it then becomes worth the effort.

I am not going to talk about each individual feature as you can get that info from the manufacturers spec. Sufficed to say that they work as described, one just needs to understand the watch.

Automated time and date setting is a main feature, and a god send if you expect accuracy from your watch.

IS IT WORTH THE MONEY? What else can you get that does it better than this at this price? A lot of technology has gone into this watch. I don't personally run, circuit train, power walk, travell time zones or work internationally. I do not time my eggs or worry that I don't exceed the mandatory 2 minutes in the shower, and I a have a 47" flat screen alarm call each day. But if I wanted in one toy a reliable set of gadgets to help me deal with any of the aforesaid, this does the job.

Superb watch - looks fantastic, feels fantastic and works fantastically.



quite simple to set-up once you check the manual, the features are great, the LED lights really come in handy when it's dark, the stopwatches is a really nice feature witch really adds to the appearance of the watch, they are extremely accurate. The alarm is quite simple to set-up if needed.



The price is a big motivation for purchasing the watch as well, with the service and super fast delivery you wont find a place better then Watch Shop UK to purchase your watch.

Superb Watch for the money, looks great.

Great features are the auto time update & two stopwatches.

Very easy to set-up, if you go to Casio's website and download the instructions that can be read, If there is a fault it's that the instructions supplied can only be read by a magnifying glass.

This watch is everything I hoped it would be - a stylish performer with loads of functionality. Set-up was easy and changing timezones is really simple. Easy to read the time, though the date can be a little difficult to see in some lighting conditions. That aside, it is a really great good-looking watch that is well worth the money.



The watch arrived promptly and with the bracelet adjusted to my wrist measurement (the unused parts of the bracelet were also delivered, so just in case my wrist balloons in the future they can be re-fitted!!). Great service.

Bought the silver version of this watch at Christmas, not had any problems with it. Looks just like the picture and I received exactly what I was expecting!



It fulfils all my requirements really - has a chronograph (stopwatch, actually it has 2!), back light (for when I'm outside at night), radio controlled/auto updating so the time should always be correct (but can be adjusted manually when necessary), alarm and easy to change between time zones when travelling!



The only niggling issues I've got with the watch are:



* The obsession it has with having to move the minute/hour hands to reflect the selected mode (so if I've set my alarm to 06:30 and want to change that at 22:00 one night, I've got to select the Alarm mode then wait a few minutes while the minute hour ticks round multiple times until it and the hour hand have wound forward/backward to the previously set alarm time)



* It would have been nice to include more than one alarm/select the days to which the alarm applies (e.g. Mon - Fri only) - but this isn't really a problem, just would've been nice to have!

Bought this as a present for my husband. Its a very cool watch for a very cool man! It looks the part as well as having all the gadgets.With multiple dials and the city timezones around the edge, plus various stopwatch functions. It has a good weight about it too, almost comparable to a TAG. The fact that the watch resets itself to the time of wherever he may travel still amazes. The only drawback is that it took a little time to set up and a lot of button pressing and some swearing (By him not me!)

My new Casio has proved to meet all my expectations. It was my first watch which updates itself by radio waves and I am very impressed. It is so reassuring to know that you have the exact time and this helps me plan my life and work more accurately.



It is easy to use, but I needed to have the manual close to hand at first and you need a good eyesight as some features on the watch face are small.



The watch is even more stylish than the web picture suggested and I am very pleased with it.

This watch looks great and is very accurate, looks much more expensive than it was and has more functons than other watches I own which were ten times the prices, it can be a bit fiddley to operate the two stopwatches etc but you soon learn how to use the functions you want, on the whole a great watch and has now become my daily wearer!

If you are one of those people that is a natural whiz with gadgets, this is the watch for you. Sadly I am not.

It was relatively easy setting up the watch from the instruction booklet whilst in the UK but on a recent trip to South Africa I found it impossible to reset the new time and it ended up in my suitcase throughout the stay. It would be nice to have a manual override to enable manual setting of the time.

This model is cheaper than the solar models but (also owning the solar chronograph) it is not so dependant on sunshine...just as well up here in the rainy north of Scotland!!!

It has a lot of features, but you really have to read the manual to get the best of them. The atomic timekeeping is excellent and it also has a backlight.

Overall a very good example of Casio's Edifice range. Good looking and comfortable to wear.

To be honest, this is really a fabulous watch, the hands are easy to read (even at night as it has luminous coating on the hands!), the radio signal synchronization keeps the watch time accurate (it really cool when you describes this functionality to your friends!). Overall speaking, this is really really a nice watch to have.



However, if want to buy this watch, keep an eye on the its price in WatchShop as it may vary, e.g, from 141 EUR to 150 EUR... Choose the appropriate time to make the purchase!

Limited edition as featured in Ironman, Great watch does everything and more than you'd ever want. Good weight and all the features are easily used and navigated to unlike previous waveceptor watches. Could do with the back light illuminating the date indicator which is the only thing i can say which is bad and chances are you know what the date is anyway!

This is a handsome watch with Excellent features. Radio control so always accurate, Two fully independant timers which are easy to set up. The watch is heavy and feels very rugged . My only complaint would be the illumination which does not backlight the digital window.

The watch was delivered within 36 hours and was very well packaged. The strap was adjusted as requested and it fits perfectly.

I saw this watch about 4 months ago,liked it,but thought I'd wait to treat myself.........WOW,was it worth the wait!!!!! My fiancee got this watch for me for my 30th birthday. I was looking for a good quality watch which kept accurate time and was fairly robust, as we are saving for a wedding we didn't want to spend fortunes either. This watch ticks all the boxes. I am really really pleased with it. I have owned Casio digital watches on the past but never a Casio Chronograph. I would recommend this watch to anyone. The technology it uses for setting itself via radio signals is fantastic! It is so accurate. Every time I hear the pips on radio2 (I am 30 now) I have a glance at my new Casio to see just how accurate it is. It is always spot on. The watch has some nice features and also looks very smart. The weight of the watch is substantial but not too heavy. The strap is very very large so if you have wrists as skinny as a skinny bloke version of posh spice (like me) then I would advise that you measure you wrist and have the strap adjusted before you buy. WatchShop will do this for you F.O.C ! A very good service. WatchShop is the best price around for this watch, high street stores are around £50.00 more. I went into a couple of high street store to try the watch on tho. Grr naughty. Anyway, I give this watch 9 out of 10, it would be 10/10 but the only little criticism I have is that the backlight could be a little better/brighter, but hey maybe I'm being a little picky. Basically , why spend thousands of pounds on other Chronos when this watch looks great and keeps time perfectly? Buy it , I implore you to buy it. Just buy it, go on, treat yourself. You deserve it.

I'd been looking at this watch for a while before taking the plunge. Coming from a G Shock,i had concerns about how this watch would feel,but i needn't have worried. Ths watch looks and feels the part. It's well made and looks great. As others have said, the display flows really well, and it's easy to read. Overall,if you're thinking about purchasing this watch,don't hesitate,go for it. The service from watchshopuk is unreal,ordered late Wednesday evening, arrived lunch time on Friday. 5 stars to watchshopuk and casio.

Ordered this amazing watch on Tuesday night and received delivery Thursday morning. One of the best features is Casio Waveceptor (automatically sets itself from radio signals - completely accurate and never needs setting). Also one of the nicest colour combination of dials. Nice!! I was concerned that being a casio this watch may feel like it would float!! I was wrong...this looks and feels as good as my breitling, but with the added advantage of keeping time!! The strap could fit an elephant and is easy to adjust, ordered sunday, got it Tuesday, watch was covered in protective films and in low power mode direct from factory to save battery. Very, very happy. Looking forward to trying the light under the covers tonight!!

Firstly thank you for the brilliant service/price/quality (especially delivery which took less than 24 hours to arrive to non mainland UK)

The watch itself is, for me, perfect. It is extremely comfortable, has a clear display with a large face (not overly big just right, has many many functions (should watch the video review on this site for demonstrations), and the main thing for me is that it fits as i have thick amrs/wrists (I did not need to remove any links).

Watch Shop Team: This watch will recieve the signals from the relevant transmitters in the northern hemisphere to ensure accuracy, but the watch does not set the time zones, as the signal travels large distances, and may cover a series of time zones, or overlap with another signal in some areas. This is why this and all other casio watches with waveceptor have to have the time zone set manually when you changing time zones. Please note that the nearest transmitter to australia is based in japan, so not all areas may be able to receive the time signal, but will continue to finction with quartz accuracy until it can update.

Will: is the dial to the left of the hands a thermometer?
Watch Shop Team: With regard to the tachymeter. The numbers round the bezel is how fast something is going and is measured in mph. Therefore, for example if you were running for a distance of 100m you would time yourself and once you have completed that 100m you would stop the timer and check where the hand as finished in relation to the mph, this will tell you how fast you went. I hope that made sense. With regard to the dial, it is not a thermometer, it is in fact it is a counter for the chronograph. Hope this helps
