Rating: Excellent (5 / 5)
I love this watch, wanted an automatic movement not a quartz. It has a classic look in terms of the understated face but the rubber strap in my opinion makes the watch look more contemporary. The vanilla scented strap is since touch to help prevent the horrible smell of stale sweat that is often associated with rubber straps. The DLC casing should be very tough although as yet I have not tested this
The glowing numerals and hour, minute and second hands are amazing at night and are really eye catching creating much interest, think of a bright crisp version of Timex indiglo that glows permanently generated by the gas filled tubes and is supposed to last for 25 years the face can then be replaced.
In terms of reliability one week into ownership I report that the movement is very accurate gaining about 5 seconds.
I would at this time not hesitate to recommend Ball watches. .The only negative comment that I have is that the edges of the strap are quite hard where it comes into contact with your skin and if you like to wear your watch quite tight as I do then you will notice that it starts to rub a little after a long day wearing the watch however not badly enough to deter me from wearing it.

The advent of the American railroad system can in many ways be attributed to the development of portable and reliable timepieces. For the first time it became important to be able to accurately and precisely keep time and modern watches were developed to keep things on track. At the forefront of this movement were Ball watches, created by railroad chief inspector Webster C. Ball. Ball is accredited with introducing and maintaining the first standardised time system on the railroads, establishing uniformity and accuracy for disaster prevention. The Ball watch has endured into the 21st century, adopting fashions that appeal to the modern consumer but each with the underlying principles of industrial function still in place. Ball watches today are inspired by freedom, travel and facing adversity head-on, for those who dare to dream and strive to live well.
