Wenger Watches - The maker of the genuine Swiss Army knife. Since 1893, Wenger have been a well known producer of extremely high quality swiss made watches. All Wenger watches are water resistant to pressures of at least 100 metres. Wenger is known for the same qualities as the Swiss Army knife itself: innovation, functionality, reliability and, above all, exceptional value for money.
Wenger - The Swiss watch brand
The world of watches is a combination of functionality and fashion. A good watch will be both usable and look good at the same time. The famous Wenger watches have been long-considered one of the most highly-functional brands, while still meeting the needs of those who want a watch that will accent their personalities and styles. Wenger watches have always spelled out high-quality, which is why they are one of the most sought after brands in the watch market today.
Wenger watches come from a long and rich history. The Wenger Company was born in 1893 by businessman Paul Boechat. Boechat was the owner and founder of a knife factory in Courtetelle called Paul Boechat and Cie. Being in the manufacturing business, the company simply picked up making the watches and had immediate success and recognition for their fine products. A few years later, in 1895, the company was taken over by another group and renamed Fabrique Swiss de Coutellerie S.A. They had control for three more years until brilliant entrepreneur Theo Wenger became the direction in 1898. The company was moved to Delsberg and renamed again as Schweizer Besleckfabrik.
After many years of serving as director and finding great success, Wenger became the company’s owner in 1907 and gave it the name that would end up becoming a classic: Wenger & Company S.A. The company continued to grow and develop under Wenger’s capable ownership. In 1908 they were commissioned to supply the knives for the Swiss Army and much growth occurred over the following 14 years. In 1922, a new face entered the scene. Kasper Oeretti bought the majority of equity holding in the company, shortened the name to Wenger SA, and he stayed in the business for quite a while before handing the management reigns over to Max Oertli some 25 years later. With this rich company history to support the venture, the Wenger Watch collection was officially released to the public in 1988 and has become a leading brand in the watch-making industry today.
When it comes to Wenger watches, there are a variety of styles and models to choose from. The Wenger Commando series has become one that is quite popular for men, but there is also a model for ladies. Other series within the brand include the Battalion Diver Series, the Aerograph Series, the Alpine Swiss Rallye Series, the Escort Series, the Ladies’ Sports Series and more. These watches are made to meet the specific needs of the person wearing them. In the Wenger Watch Collection, there is something for everyone. Many of the watches come with dual time zone monitoring, perfectly suited for someone who travels frequently and likes to know what the time is in his present location as well as back home. Some are usable underwater. All are high-quality. The crystal used in Wenger watches is a scratch resistant mineral crystal, keeping the watch looking new. Bands can come in leather or solid stainless steel.
For consumers looking for a high-quality watch that will work well and look good, the Wenger Watch Collection is a great place to start.
