Watches are promoted into our sports watch section by way of looking 'sporty'. Being in this section does not necessarily recommend any watch for specific sports, or the usage in any physical sport. Above is a selection of watches which we consider to be 'sporty looking'. Generally, this means featuring a rubber strap, highly water resistant case, and/or a chronograph movement. In this section we stock both mens and ladies sports watches, however if you like a particular brand, you can view the full range by using the Shop by brand function from the left navigation.

Everyone loves sports watches. Whether you are an athlete, an outdoors adventurer, or just want to look like one, sports watches adds a touch of rugged style to any wardrobe. And the proper sports watch is great for any occasion, formal, casual, or to actually wear in sports activities.

The style and selection of a sports watch is an individual decision and will vary according to the sport or activity one is engaging in. Sports watches have a broad range of functionality, so some thought is needed to match the watch with the sport or person.

One function that is almost always a must is a chronograph. But even with a chronograph, there are choices. Do you want a classic and elegant analogue chronograph with a lot of dials and buttons, or a simple and functional digital chronograph? A runner may want a chronograph with large over-sized numbers to be able to easily read their times. Pilots and divers may want a multi-function analogue chronograph to be able to watch and monitor long periods of time.

Another common feature in a sports watch, and one treasured by divers is the simple numeric bezel. This feature allows the wearer to simply spin the bezel to mark time quickly and easily, yet allow them to monitor time left in their air tanks at a glance. Other features found on sports watches may include alarms, multiple timers, or a backlight.

Another decision is the materials used in the construction of the watch and band. The activity the wearer will engage in will determine what is appropriate. Do they need the lightweight durability of titanium or the ability to dive to depths beyond the normal casual swimmer?

For the casual wearer, sports watches are a nice fashion accessory. For the serious sports person, a sports watch with the proper functionality can mean success or even survival.
