Fruitz watches are the appealing creations of Phillip Stein, a designer with a flair for the whimsical and colourful. These watches are neither reserved nor ordinary, instead opting for a look that is pure fun. For those who have grown bored with respectability, there are Fruitz.

Each Fruitz watch is an example of a concept called Natural Frequency Technology. It emits pulses in tune with the rhythm of Earth’s vibration, synchronizing the wearer and contributing to a feeling of vitality and energy. The company was founded in 2007 with the goal of providing fun, attractive watches to bring this technology into widespread use. Fruitz watches using Natural Frequency Technology have acquired some high-profile fans including Oprah Winfrey, Madonna and Dakota Fanning.

People who think they don’t like designer watches should take a look at these. Each watch represents a different fruit and uses its colours as the basis for the design. The textured silicon bands are in complementary colours. The faces are wide and round for maximum visibility. The dials have faint radiating lines reminiscent of fruit pulp, and the hour markers cleverly resemble the shapes of the fruit’s seeds.

The Fruitz Basic line features uncomplicated watches with hour, minute and second hands in standard configuration. The broad faces are set off by bezels of polished stainless steel to accentuate the bright colours. The shades are lush enough to eat, especially the blue tangerine and ruby red grapefruit models.

The Fruitz Happy Hour line features day, date and 24-hour dials in addition to the standard hands. Each of these watches is named after a popular fruit drink such as Strawberry Daiquiri and Pina Colada.

For those who want another kind of design, there is the Peace and Love line. Here the dials have hearts, flowers and the two words in various motifs. These watches are uncomplicated to allow greater visibility of the patterns.

The Sorbet line differs from the others by using a metal link bracelet instead of a silicon band. The fruit motif is continued on the dials. The metal gives a warm luster to these pieces and makes them seem slightly less playful than the others.

The designs get even more flamboyant in the Tutti-Frutti line. Here the watches have day, date and 24-hour dials. The dials are white, but the hour markers and hands are brightly coloured.
