Dreyfuss & Co Watches

The story of Dreyfuss & Co encompasses the history of the Dreyfuss family, a Swiss family known for making exquisite watches since the 1890s. Moise Dreyfuss, the family patriarch, opened a watch factory in 1895, in La Chaux de Fonds, Switzerland. His attention to detail and craftsmanship, combined with an equally attentive focus on personal service, gained him a reputation for quality timepieces backed by lifetime support.

A Family Tradition

Moise’s sons, Georges, Sylvain and René, followed him into the family watch-making business. In 1920, brothers Georges and Sylvain moved to Britain, where they opened offices to oversee import operations of the family’s watch company, Rotary Watches. René remained in Switzerland, and in 1925, launched his own company, the Dreyfuss Fils Watch Company. René’s passion for timepieces was evident from an early age, and as a master horologist, he dedicated himself not only to perfecting the art of watch making, but to amassing a museum collection of clocks and other timepieces.

Master Craftsman

The British side of the Dreyfuss watch making tradition continues to the present day. Moise’s great grandson, Robert Dreyfuss, joined Rotary Watches in 1987, and in 2005, created an exclusive subsidiary, Dreyfuss & Co, as a legacy to the fine craftsmanship of René Dreyfuss. The Dreyfuss & Co collections are named in honor of the highpoints of René’s life, from the year that René first established his own company, to the year that René retired.

Swiss Precision

Dreyfuss & Co watches are all hand made in Switzerland, following generations of Swiss watchmaker traditions. A long, complex process is involved, as each component must be calibrated to precision. For a timepiece that lasts a lifetime, there is no margin for error. Each watch is individually numbered, making a Dreyfuss & Co a collector piece, intended to be passed down from generation to generation. The motto of Dreyfuss & Co, translated from the French, is “Tradition is remembered long after price is forgotten.”

Classic Styles with Modern Innovation

Dreyfuss & Co watches primarily offers classic designs, with subtle contemporary styling elements. Styles for both gentlemen and ladies are available, from Art Deco to contemporary fashions. Only the finest materials are used, including Sapphire glass, brushed or stainless steel and 18-carat gold. Apart from their gold products, Dreyfuss & co watches feature the company’s “Seafarer” technology, making the watches waterproof for all water sports, from waterskiing to diving.

Each purchase includes a hand-made cabinet to preserve and display the watch, as well as a two-year guarantee. To ensure that their timepieces last a lifetime and beyond, regular maintenance service is provided and highly recommended.
