Armani Exchange Watches is one of the brands in the Armani fashion empire, one of the most respected names in the business. The goal in forming this brand was to attract a younger market in an effort to prevent Armani from becoming one of those staid, old names desired mainly by older customers. The result was a stunning line of fun, colourful watches with surprisingly affordable prices.

The selection of styles from Armani Exchange has grown in the two decades since its formation. Today, their range of watches has some of the most eye-catching, appealing timepieces on the market made with impeccable Armani quality.

Most of these watches are rather large. The men's models have a heftiness that would look awkward if they were not so well-styled. The fact that the cases are rounded and flow smoothly into the strap lugs makes that bulk seem handsome. There are no sharp edges here; lugs, bezels and even the metal links of the bracelets are rounded. Non-numerical hour markers predominate, though some models have numbers at the cardinal points.

Some of the most appealing examples are those with rectangular dials, which are slightly elongated horizontally. The shape looks familiar, and then the mind places it: these faces are patterned after TV screens. They seem to present the time to us on a screen, an icon of the modern world.

Most of the ladies' models also have some size, seeming demure only in comparison to the men's. On some, the rectangular face and very wide metal bracelet are again used to good advantage. On others, a round face is complemented by a curved bezel and tapering strap lugs flowing into narrow bracelets. Warm, muted metallic tones are well-represented, though there are some straps and cases of bright silicone.

Dials are conventionally arranged with central-axis hour, minute and second hands. There are some chronograph models with dual dials and small second hands. Armani Exchange Watches include many ladies' chronographs, unlike some watchmakers who seem to think only men can use them.

Of course, it wouldn't be Armani without a touch of bling, and it's here in the form of a few models with baguette diamonds bordering the face, as well as quite a few specimens in rose or yellow gold. These elements work so well with the design that they do not seem gaudy or ostentatious, rather contributing to the harmony of the overall piece.
